The housing has an opening communicating with the drain pipe connection and the lower edge of the opening is spaced above both the lower end of the inlet drain pipe section and the invert of the outlet to which the horizontal drain pipe is connected. 1. A floor drain trap comprising a trap housing having an upper end, a lower end and a lateral wall extending between its upper and lower ends, a horizontally extending drain pipe connection being attached to the lateral wall of said housing and extending outwardly therefrom and forming an outlet for connecting said trap to a horizontally extending drain pipe, said drain pipe connection forming a passageway between said trap and its outlet, the upper end of said housing having an inlet opening, an inlet drain pipe section extending downwardly within said housing from said inlet opening to a location spaced above the lower end of said housing, said lateral wall comprising an upright partition wall being disposed at the location of the attachment of said drain pipe connection to said housing and extending upwardly from the lower end of said housing to an upper edge located intermediate the invert and crown of the outlet from said drain pipe connection, said upper edge of said partition wall located above the lower end of said inlet drain pipe section, said lateral wall forming an opening between the interior of said housing and said drain pipe connection and being defined along its lower side by the upper edge of said partition wall and the upper edge of said partition wall having a width greater than the width of said outlet from said drain pipe connection.

2. A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the invert of said outlet from said drain pipe connection being located above the interior lower end of said housing.

3. A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 1, wherein said inlet drain pipe section having a frusto-conical shape with its walls converging inwardly in the downward direction.

4. A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 2, wherein the lower end of said inlet drain pipe section being located belOw the invert of said outlet from said drain pipe connection.

5. A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 4, wherein said inlet drain pipe section being spaced inwardly from the inner surface of said housing and forming an annular flow passage about said inlet drain pipe section from the lower end of said inlet drain pipe section to the opening into said drain pipe connection.

6. A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 5, wherein the horizontal cross sectional area of said annular flow passage decreasing in the upward direction from the lower end of said inlet drain pipe section.

7. A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 1, wherein said opening in said lateral wall having a substantially rectangular shape and each upwardly extending side thereof being spaced laterally outwardly from the inner surface of said outlet from said drain pipe connection.

A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 7, wherein a C-shaped groove being formed in the sides of said drain pipe connection extending from the opening in said lateral wall of said housing toward said outlet from said drain pipe connection, and the lower surface of said C-shaped grooves forming an extension of the upper edge of said partition wall.

9. A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 8, wherein said drain pipe connection disposed below the lower surfaces of said C-shaped grooves having a semi-circular transverse configuration extending between said partition wall and said outlet from said drain pipe connection.

10. A floor drain trap, as set forth in claim 1, wherein said housing having an inwardly directed flange at its upper end, and said inlet drain pipe section having an annularly shaped outwardly directed flange at its upper end being supported on said flange on said housing.
