CONSTITUTION: Respective liner molding boards 2 are disposed in the bottom surface 11 of a large molding board 1, and while the groove width of the molding board grooves 4 formed by two pieces 1 set are being measured in such a manner that they become of predetermined sizes, the molding boards 2 are secured respectivly to the molding board 1 by means of bolts 17. Next, multiple cross gate bricks 3 are continuously fitted in the grooves 4 formed by the molding board 2 and the grooves 4 dug in the thick wall parts to form a bottom pouring molding board A for ingotting, after which molds 5 are placed on the grooves 4. In this case, refractory materials 19 are filled only in the bottom part in the clearances between the bricks 3 and the molding board 2, after which molten metal is passed through the through-holes 18 of the bricks 3 and is bottom poured into the molds 5, whereby the molten metal is poured. The bricks 3 are perfectly restrained from 4 directions by thermal expansion, thus even if the bricks 3 per se cause abrupt temp. rise owing to the heat of the molten metal and cause cracking in the horizontal direction, the cracked ports will not open and do not permit the leakage of molten metal.
