CONSTITUTION: An identification index is provided in the lengthwise direction of a magnetic tape 8 by an index setting circuit 17 and plural sets of sections are set. These sections are allocated to singers respectively. The digital audio signals are recorded on the divided oblique tracks TN1WTN6 for each section by a CD plater 2 via a rotary head 21. Thus the section of the corresponding singer is selected via the index and a piece of desired music is selected by a search within said section. Thus the search access time is shortened. Furthermore, the audio signals are also recorded in parallel or series on those divided tracks by means of a switch 12. The reverse recording is also possible with a switch 13 in a parallel mode.
