In this way, ammonia is mainly nitrified in the aerobic state and in succession to this, denitrification bacterium groups are activated in the anaerobic state that takes place in the same tank, whereby nitric acid is decomposed. Thereby, denitrification operation treatment is accomplished at low maintenance costs in a large scale sewage treatment system, and the treatment of ≥70% denitrification rate is stably accomplished by the simple operations.
