2 gas attaches to sludge at the denitrification tank, and a large quantity of sludge float. These floating sludge and diposing liquid are introduced to a reserve sedimentation tank 11, and floating sludge collected at said tank 11 is returned to the nitration tank by means of a return pipe. Activated sludge concentrated at the reserve sedimentation tank 11 is also returned to the nitration tank 7. Disposing liquid passing through the reserve sedimentation tank 11 is separated into denitrified water and activated sludge at a sedimentation tank 12, sludge is returned to the nitration tank and denitrified water is discharged.
