The temperature of the air is 15W30°C and relative humidity is over 30%. When contacting with moisture, the aluminum phosphide gradually hydrolyzes to evolve hydrogen phosphide gas, thus repellenting insects. This method can effect more uniform repulsion compared to conventional fumigation independently from the temperature and humidity of the grains or oiled cakes.
