CONSTITUTION: A molten raw material of oily cake 80 is poured into a shell- type mold 74 having a notch 76 at the boundary between the shells. The excess material is removed by turning the mold 74 upside down to obtain a layer of the oily cake attached to the inner surface of the mold 74. The unnecessary cake material attached to the notched part is removed by the hot scraper 82, and the cake material is cooled and solidified to obtain a half shell of the oily cake 78 having a notch. The rim of the half shell 78 is melted with heat, and a pair of half shells are united together to obtain the objective oily hollow cake 84 having an opening. An opening having arbitrary shape can be formed to the cake 84, and the opening has clean edge. Accordingly, the obtained cake has excellent appearance, nearly uniform thickness, and high strength.
