CONSTITUTION: A high pressure discharge lamp 2 installed on the ceiling 1 is placed in a container 10 with its under side opened to the room A, and the container 10 is connected to the inlet port of a fan 5 through a heat-discharging passage 3 made up in the ceiling. The discharge side of the fan 5 is connected with a discharge opening 15 made in an external wall 14, simultaneously connected with the inside of the room via a heat-returning passage 4 which diverges from the part of the discharge side, and a change-over damper 6 that can be freely opened and closed is installed at the diverging point of the heat-returning passage 4. The air taken in by the fan 5 and heated by the discharge lamp 2 through heat-exchanging is discharged from the discharge opening 15 in the summer period, while the heated air is returned to the room via the heat-returning passage 4 in the winter period, so that the air-conditioning load can be reduced.
