Number check unit

CONSTITUTION: Sheets (securities and so on) 12 to be checked are stored in feed stacker 11 and are sucked to feed drum 14 and are carried to delivery belt 24 of the carrying mechanism part. Further, sheet 12 carried to belt 24 is carried to recognizing system 26 where light source 26a and ITV 26b as an image receiving unit are arranged, and the number printed on sheet 12 is picked up. The operation processing between pattern data corresponding to the picked-up number and the reference font is performed by the microcomputer constituted by a register, a memory, and so on, and bottom information corresponding to the bottom part of the number is taken in. It is decided on a basis of this bottom information whether the number is correct or not; and if the number print is decided as correct, checked sheet 12 is carried to paper eject roller 29 and is stored in paper eject stacker 30.
