92 INTER-GALLERY TRADING SYSTEM FOR ARTWORKS PCT/US2010/035693 2010-05-21 WO2010141236A1 2010-12-09 LAND, Kris; GERVIS, Daniel L S J; MELEMEDJIAN DE RUS, Jean-Michel

A clearinghouse system for inter-gallery trading of artworks is described. A central database stores digital images and metadata about artworks owned by all member galleries. The data is duplicated and stored in local databases at each member gallery. Customers at a first gallery can view images and information about artworks owned by other galleries using display devices installed at the first gallery. If the customer is interested in an artwork owned by a second gallery, a price request is transmitted from the display device to a remote clearinghouse management server. The clearinghouse management server transmits the price to the first gallery via an information receiver other than the display device. The first gallery may then quote a price to the customer by adding a markup to the price received from the clearinghouse management server. A purchase request can also be generated from the display device.

PURPOSE: To prevent a system from going down by setting an exchange pattern so as to evade to select a note with a few remaining amount when an automatic setting key is depressed. CONSTITUTION: By accepting the throw-in of paper money, an operation for an exchange pattern equivalent to the amount of paper money is performed. At this time, the exchange pattern is automatically set when the automatic setting key is depressed. For example, when a note of 10,000-yen is thrown in, it is judged whether or not a note of 5,000-yen and a note of 1,000-yen arrive at a near end by a near end flag, and the exchange pattern is set at two 5,000-yen notes unless the 5,000-yen note arrives at the near end. The exchange pattern is set at ten 1,000-yen notes when the 5,000-yen note arrives at the near end and no 1,000-yen note arrives at the near end. The exchange pattern is set at one 5,000-yen note and five 1,000-yen notes when both the 5,000-yen note and the 1,000-yen note arrive at the near end. The exchange pattern is set in the same way when the 5,000-yen note and the 1,000-yen note are thrown in. In such a way, it is possible to prevent the system from going down and an operation rate from being lowered. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio

An electronic ticket exchange system and method of operation. Tickets for public-facility events are issued by the facility's electronic ticket control system, which maintains a database for storing ownership information regarding each electronic ticket. When the electronic ticket control system receives a ticket exchange request message from a virtual ticket device on which one or more electronic tickets are stored, it compares the conditions of exchange in the request with ownership information in the database to determine if a match can be found. If so, the parties are notified through a message to their virtual ticket devices and, upon confirmation, the exchange is effected by updating the electronic ticket information in each of the virtual ticket devices and also in the electronic ticket control system database.
