| Protective working gloves are manufactured from separate pieces that are joined together by stitching. The manufacturing process requires a seam at the level of the thumb-index finger junction, with this being the weakest point of the glove and statistically the first cause of tearing.
The reinforcement is designed to provide over-protection to the glove in the anatomical area of the hand which, as a result of its maximum functional capacity, has the greatest bio-mechanical requirements: the thumb-index finger pincer is the common denominator of all activities involving catching, friction and pulling, with the seams suffering the greater wear and tear. This protection extends the useful life of the glove and increases the safety of the user. The reinforcement of the thumb-index finger junction is made of a sheet of the same material as that used in the glove or of another, more resistant, material, superimposed at the junction. The fastening procedures will vary according to the working glove and the material from which the reinforcing sheet is made. |
