[Also in Division Fl] A machine for mixing, kneading and displacing liquids, plastics compositions or powders comprises two intermeshing rotatable screws 1a, 1b which may have cores 2a, 2b that are eccentric relative to the threads and the axes of rotation 3a, 3b, the thread on each screw being in contact with the core of the other screw and having its longitudinal axis 4a, or 4b, eccentric relative to the axis of rotation. The screws may be of conic shape, Figs. 25 and 26 (not shown). In a second embodiment, Figs. 6 to 9 (not shown), the thread (15a) on one screw (10a) has its longitudinal axis (13a) coinciding with the axis of .rotation (12a) whereas the core (11b) of the other screw (10b) has its longitudinal axis (14b) coinciding with the axis of rotation. In a third embodiment, Figs. 10 to 13 (not shown), one screw (18a) is similar to the screw (10a) in the second embodiment whereas the other screw (18b) is similar to either of the screws 1a, 1b. In a fourth embodiment, Figs. 14 to 17 (not shown), both of the screws (26a, 26b) are similar to the screw 10a in the second embodiment. In a fifth embodiment, Figs. 18 and 19 (not shown), each screw is similar to either of the screws 1a, 1b and comprises two sections (34a, 35a), or (34b, 35b), having threads of opposite sense or pitch. In a sixth embodiment. Figs. 20 to 24 (not shown), the screws (46a, 46b) are coreless and have eccentric axes of rotation (47a, 47b), the threads (49a, 49b) having substantially triangular configurations in cross-section such that they are continuously in contact with each other when the screws rotate. In a seventh embodiment, Fig. 27 (not shown), two pairs of screws (62a, 62b), which are similar to the screws 1a, 1b, have their axes of rotation (64a, 64b, 64c, 64d) situated either in two intersecting planes or in a common plane. The embodiment according to Figs. 25 and 26 may be employed to effect separation of liquids, the walls of a housing for the screws being perforated. | ||||||
