An article of apparel (100) may include a textile element (130) that defines a crease ( 130). The textile element may be knitted to have a first course (141,143) and a second course (144,146) that are adjacent to each other in some areas of the textile element ( 130) and spaced from each other by a raised course (148) in other areas of the textile element. The crease (131) extends along the third course (147) and has a length that is substantially equal to a length of the third course. In manufacturing the textile element (130), the raised course (148) may be formed between portions of the first course and the second course through a knitting process, such as a flat knitting process. |
