RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims priority to provisional patent application U.S. Ser. No. 62/288,292 filed on Jan. 28, 2016, the entire contents of which is herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND

The embodiments herein relate generally to toys, and more particularly, to a plush toy with an internal T-shaped stabilizer

Stuffed animals, otherwise known as plush toys, tend to only have one purpose—to be a toy. Stuffed animals representing, for example, mascots of sports teams are often sold at sporting events. However, all a consumer can do is hold the stuffed animal. While there is nothing wrong with conventional plush toys, they do not include a mechanism for turning the toy into a rally device that can be held high by a user or attached to a vehicle.

Therefore, what is needed is a device that turns a plush toy into a more versatile object, allowing a user to use the plush toy as a rally device.

SUMMARY

Some embodiments of the present disclosure include a plush toy with an internal stabilizer. The plush toy may include an outer plush body with a pair of arms and an opening at a bottom surface of the outer plush body; a T-shaped stabilizer positioned within the outer plush body, the T-shaped stabilizer including a post and a pair of arms extending perpendicularly from the post at a first end of the post, and a threaded orifice at a second end of the post, the threaded orifice aligning with the opening in the outer plush body; and either a handle or a clip component removably attached to the threaded orifice.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF CERTAIN EMBODIMENTS

In the following detailed description of the invention, numerous details, examples, and embodiments of the invention are described. However, it will be clear and apparent to one skilled in the art that the invention is not limited to the embodiments set forth and that the invention can be adapted for any of several applications.

The device of the present disclosure may be used as a plush toy with a stabilizing mechanism and, optionally, attachments for holding the plush toy and may comprise the following elements. This list of possible constituent elements is intended to be exemplary only, and it is not intended that this list be used to limit the device of the present application to just these elements. Persons having ordinary skill in the art relevant to the present disclosure may understand there to be equivalent elements that may be substituted within the present disclosure without changing the essential function or operation of the device.

1. Plush Toy

2. T-Shaped Stabilizer

3. Optional Attachments

The various elements of the device of the present disclosure may be related in the following exemplary fashion. It is not intended to limit the scope or nature of the relationships between the various elements and the following examples are presented as illustrative examples only.

By way of example, and referring to FIGS. 1-9, some embodiments of the present disclosure include a plush toy with an internal stabilizer, the plush toy comprising an outer plush body 10; and a T-shaped stabilizer positioned within the outer plush body 10, wherein the T-shaped stabilizer comprises a pair of arms 16 extending substantially perpendicularly from a post 14, an end of the post 14 opposite the pair of arms 16 comprises a threaded orifice 18, the outer plush body 10 comprises an opening in a bottom surface thereof, and the T-shaped stabilizer is positioned within the outer plush body 10 such that the threaded orifice 18 is aligned with the opening in the bottom surface of the outer plush body 10. In embodiments, such as that shown in the Figures, the outer plush body 10 may resemble an animal, such as a teddy bear, wherein the outer plush body 10 comprises arms 12 and each of the pair of arms 16 is configured to be positioned within the arms 12 of the outer plush body 10, such that the T-shaped stabilizer provides support for the arms 12 to stick outwards from the outer plush body 10 without drooping. The T-shaped stabilizer may also provide support for the outer plush body 10 to stand upright.

Embodiments of the device of the present disclosure may further comprise an attachment configured to screw into the threaded orifice 10 in the post 14. For example, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, a handle 20 with a threaded end 22 may removably attach to the T-shaped stabilizer by screwing the threaded end 22 of the handle 20 into the threaded orifice 18 in the T-shaped stabilizer. A user may then hold the device by the handle 20. Embodiments of the handle 20 may further comprise a threaded inlet 21 on an end of the handle opposite the threaded end 22. The threaded inlet 21 may serve as a connection point for further attachments, such as a clip component 24 with a threaded clip end 25 and a window arm 26, wherein the window arm 26 is configured to engage with a window, such that the device may be placed on the window of a vehicle. Alternatively, the threaded clip end 24 may be screwed directly into the threaded orifice 18 in the T-shaped stabilizer.

While not shown in the Figured, other attachments are also envisioned for use with the device of the present disclosure. For example, the T-shaped stabilizer may connect to a stand, such that the plush toy can stand on a surface, such as a desk, a shelf, or the like.

While the T-shaped stabilizer is shown as having a threaded orifice 18 to engage with attachments, the attachments may connect to the T-shaped stabilizer using any known, suitable, or desired connection or fastener. Similarly, while the outer plush body 10 is shown resembling a teddy bear in the Figures, it certainly is not limited to such a shape. In fact, the outer plush body 10 may have any desired size or shape. However, in embodiments, the outer plush body 10 may have arms 12 or other similar appendages such that the T-shaped stabilizer's arms 16 are positioned within the appendages, preventing the outer plush body 10 from moving or rotating without moving or rotating the entire device. Because the device may be waved in the air or attached to a moving vehicle, such a structure may prevent the outer plush body 10 from detaching from the T-shaped stabilizer during use. The T-shaped stabilizer may also be permanently attached to the interior of the outer plush body 10 by, for example, sewing the T-shaped stabilizer to the outer plush body 10.

The device of the present disclosure may be made of any desired materials. For example, the outer plush body 10 may comprise a soft fabric material that is stuffed with a stuffing, the T-shaped stabilizer may comprise a plastic or other rigid material, and the attachments may also comprise a plastic or other rigid material.

Persons of ordinary skill in the art may appreciate that numerous design configurations may be possible to enjoy the functional benefits of the inventive systems. Thus, given the wide variety of configurations and arrangements of embodiments of the present invention the scope of the invention is reflected by the breadth of the claims below rather than narrowed by the embodiments described above.
