摘要 PURPOSE: To reduce wear of and damage to electrodes, and suddenly impart large energy by increasing resistance of a passage of an electric arc between the electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A means 30 to increase resistance of a passage of an electric arc between electrodes 12 and 14 is provided. This means 30 has a high resistance insulating element 32 arranged between the electric arc generating electrodes 12 and 14. When a switch I' is closed at the time when a switch I is opened, a capacitor C is charged. Next, in case the switch I is closed when the switch I' is opened, the capacitor C is discharged through the electrodes 12 and 14.
