摘要	PURPOSE:To reduce the variation of electroacoustic characteristics extending from a small depth to a large depth by providing a support plate between a front mass and a piezoelectric element to form a hollow front mass having equivalently a 1/4 wavelength to the resonance frequency. CONSTITUTION:A support plate 14 is set at the position of a vibration node of a vibrating system containing a front mass 11, a piezoelectric element 12 and a rear mass 13. The mass 11 is joined with the plate 14, and the plate 14 is adhered to the element 12 and the mass 13. The mass 11 is made of a metal and is a hollow cylinder having a closed one side. The system of the element 12 and the mass 13 is driven by the alternating voltage supplied through a cable 16. Thus the mass 11 having a length equivalent to 1/4 wavelength is excited to radiate sound waves.
