141 | HYDROMASSAGE CHAIR FOR SWIMMING POOLS AND THE LIKE | EP12852728.0 | 2012-10-22 | EP2799644A1 | 2014-11-05 | TORREGROSA PASCUAL, José |
The chair has a backrest (1), a seat (2) and a footrest (3) as well as a headrest (4) with a rear plate (6) for support on the edge of the pool with outlet holes for air and/or water driven by one or more pumps located on the headrest (4), to be carried through distribution ducts (8). The parts constituting the seat are articulated allowing for both partial and total folding and thus achieving a volume reduction both when folded and not in use but in the pool, and in a storage situation making it a device that can be purchased, transported and installed immediately without the need for work or emptying the pool, or assembly of the seat which merely requires unfolding; having provided that the distribution of air and/or water is made by the rotational bearings fitted. |

The invention concerns an article of adjustable furniture such as a recliner chair (10) or adjustable bed (200) comprising a base (16), an intermediate support (18) and a back support (20). The intermediate support is guided for movement relative to the base by first guide means. The back support is guided for movement relative to both the base and intermediate support by second guide means. The first guide means include at least one guide (36, 38) associated with one of the base and intermediate support and at least one follower (32, 34) associated with the other of the base and intermediate support. The second guide means includes at least one guide (76) associated with one of the base support and the back support and at least one follower (48) associated with the other of the base support and the back support. The back support is mounted for pivotal movement (74) with respect to the intermediate support. The first and second guide means are arranged such that, in use, pivoting of the back support relative to the intermediate support causes the intermediate support to move with respect to the base in a forward and possibly upward manner when the back support is reclined or raised to provide a "zero-wall" item of furniture.
147 | IMPROVED RECLINER OTTOMAN LINKAGE WITH UNIQUE SECONDARY OTTOMAN | EP10775380.8 | 2010-05-11 | EP2429344A1 | 2012-03-21 | CRUM, Michael Andrew |
Extendable ottoman linkages supporting both a main and secondary ottoman, as well as high-leg, space-saving recliners for which such linkages are designed, are provided. The extendable ottoman linkages provide sufficient clearance for a secondary ottoman to extend by arranging the components of the linkage such that the extension of the secondary ottoman is delayed until the main ottoman has extended sufficiently to provide the necessary clearance. The extendable ottoman linkages further hold the secondary ottoman securely in a closed position when the furniture is in a closed position.

The supporting means are arranged at the front portion of the frame (2) of the device in the form of two cushions spaced apart to provide a free space accessible to the legs of the user from the front and in a direction towards the seat. The sitting device may have a back rest. The seat may be fixedly connected to the frame, and the frame provided with generally curved runners (3) to contact the floor and said supporting means arranged at the front ends of the runners. The runners may at a middle portion thereof have curved transition between front and back portions of the runners. Instead of the seat being fixedly connected with respect to the runners, the seat may be hingedly connected to the frame and be forwardly tiltable. |

159 | Adjustable seat and leaning apparatus | US15297966 | 2016-10-19 | US09968195B2 | 2018-05-15 | Jonathan Sheinkop |
An adjustable seating solution that enables users to adjust several seating characteristics is disclosed. In a relatively low sitting position, the disclosed device provides some support if the user leans back, but predominately supports the user's weight and requires the user to engage core muscles to maintain good posture. The disclosed apparatus enables the user to adjust the seat upward to a leaning position. A platform extends forward under the user's feet to ensure that when the user leans against the seat, the apparatus remains stable. The apparatus enables the seat portion to be tilted, such that varying contours can be selected to engage the user's body in a desired way. At low heights, the user can tilt the seat portion forward to require the user to further engage core muscles while seated. At higher heights, the user can customize the contour of the seat that engages the user's body.
