A folding low seat chair is provided including opposite side arm portions and adjustable length shoulder strap loops supported therefrom whereby the chair, when unfolded, may be supported from the back of a user and utilized as a backpack frame for supporting relatively heavy and large bulk loads. The chair/backpack frame is constructed in a manner such that the weight of a person seated on the chair or a load supported therefrom when being used as a backpack frame serves to retain the chair in an unfolded position. Further, the back engaging portions of the chair and backpack frame are such that comfort and air circulation is afforded between the backpack frame and the user. |

A padded carrying case having an inclined plane structure therein. The case is made of a resilient material and when placed on a standard folding chair results in a forward-sloping seating surface. The amount of sloping or pitch can be varied by use of a supplemental shim detachably mounted within the carrying case. The inclined plane member and supplemental shim can be removed from the case and assembled to form a reading stand for musical scores and the like. |

A combination carrying case and folding seat. The device is arranged to be disposed directly on a supporting surface, such as the ground and comprises first and second shell-shaped members. The members are pivotably connected together at their rear by a hinge. The first shell member is generally hollow in shape for storage of items therein and includes a generally planar bottom portion. The generally planar bottom portion serves as the base for the device when disposed on the ground as a seat. The device also includes a third member removably mounted over the first member and closing the hollow interior of the first member. The third member forms a seating surface of the device. The second member includes an inner surface and is pivotable relative to the first member from a closed position wherein the members contact each other to an open position wherein the inner surface of the second member extends at an angle of at least 90.degree. to the seating surface to form a back rest for the seat. Flanges are provided to form a vertical support for the unit when said unit is in its closed position, with one of the flanges serving as a brace for the second member when the device is in its open or seating position. A handle is provided to enable the carrying of the case and locking means are provided to lock the device in its closed position. |

A bag convertible into a seat comprising two quadrangular metal frames articulatedly connected to each other midways at opposite side portions of each frame so that the frames may be moved between a closed position in which top and bottom portions of the frames are closely adjacent each other and a spread-apart position, tear resistant flexible material encompassing the frames and forming a bag having an upper open end and including a flap extending over the open end and downwardly over the front wall of the bag, when said frames are in the closed position. At least one, and preferably two, hooks are connected to the inner surface of the flap adjacent the free edge thereof adapted to engage with a top portion of one frame, when the frames are in the spread-apart position, to thereby hold the flap in taught condition over the wide-opened end of the bag for forming a seat. |

This invention provides a highly compact folding chair that can approximately be reduced to the size and form of an attache case. In essence, the seat resembles a card table whose legs can be folded into its underside and a hinged backrest is provided that also is used to cover or enclose the legs, thereby forming a boxlike structure in the hollow of which the legs are contained. The hinge itself includes a handle for easy carrying.
