A portable, compact folding furniture piece (10) constructed as a seat or table is configured for convenient storage. The folding furniture piece comprises an object support assembly (24) that is configured for operative connection to a mounting structure (12) and includes a spring mechanism (40, 42) securing together as a flexible unit a support mount (36), an articulated vertebral column (26), and a support base (38). The spring mechanism exhibits flexibility properties such that the object support assembly assumes at rest an unfolded state and, in response to an externally applied bending force, assumes a folded state. In the unfolded state, the vertebral column is substantially straight to provide a closed support surface (44). In the folded state, the vertebral column is curved to provide a raised, open support surface on which an object can rest. Depending on the embodiment of the furniture piece, the object can be a person or thing. |

A folding chair comprising a framework, a deployment mechanism for fully retracting or expanding the frame, a seat and a back attached to the framework. The framework includes a back, a pair of opposing sides, each of which include a rear section and a front section that are hingedly connected to one another, a front section that extends between the front ends of the sides' front sections, and a seat that includes a front seat frame hingedly attached at its front edge to the interior surface of the front section, and a rear seat frame that is hingedly attached at its rear edge to the back. The seat's front and rear frames are also hingedly connected to each other along their adjacent edges. Retraction of the chair is achieved by a gas piston that is actuated by a string that the user can pull to create a fore that fully retracts the frame. |

A collapsible mobile furniture frame is provided that includes a center frame, a left frame and a right frame. The left and right frames each include a seat base and a seat back. The left and right seat backs are pivotally connected to the left and right seat bases, respectively, such that the left and right seat backs are capable of pivoting downwardly to a collapsed position against the left seat base. Likewise, the right seat back is pivotally connected to the right seat base by right back hinges such that the right back is capable of pivoting downwardly about the right back hinges to a collapsed position against the right seat base. The left and right frames are pivotally connected to the center seat base such that they are capable of pivoting upwardly to a collapsed position against the center seat base. |

This foldable chair comprises a frame forming the backrest and the forward prop and being articulately linked to a second frame forming the backward prop and to a plate forming the seat. A characterising feature lies in that the seat is linked in a pin-jointed connection and by means of a link to the second frame, said link having each of its respective ends linked in a pin-jointed connection to the respective one of two pieces being fixedly attached to the lower surface of the seat and to the lower surface of the cross member of the second frame, respectively, the seat coming to rest on this latter cross member. |

A collapsible structure includes first and second longitudinally extending rigid members, and means pivotally connecting the first and second members for movement between a compact storage orientation, wherein the first and second members extend longitudinally in a substantially parallel relationship, and an erected use orientation, wherein the first and second members extend longitudinally in a substantially non-parallel relationship. Movement between the storage and use orientations requires movement of the second member through an arc greater than 180null and less than 360null into a reflex angle relative to the first member. |

A folding chair comprising a front leg frame pivotally connected to a right sidebar and a left sidebar, a left and right sidebar pivotally connected to a rear leg frame, a seat member pivotable about a rear crossbar articulated to the rear leg frame, a back rest fastened to the extended rear legs, and a locking device that interlocks the seat member to the front and rear crossbar. By manually releasing the locking device, the front leg frame rotates forward and underneath into parallelism with the front portion of the right and left sidebars, and the right and left sidebars further rotates forward and on top of into parallelism with the lower end of the rear leg frame, allowing for the chair to fold to a consistent flat panel. |

A three-legged chair having two side legs and a centrally disposed rear support leg wherein, the seat cooperatively moves with respect to the three legs in folding the chair. The third leg folds closed so as to fit between the parallelogram-shaped two side legs, and the folded closed chairs may then be stacked as flush-fitting parallelograms. The sides of the side legs are formed with complementary connecting parts so that the folded open chairs may be attached so as form a row or pew. |

An article of folding furniture such as a stool or a table is made from board or other sheet material by a few cutting operations that provide substantially all the load bearing parts necessary for the complete unit. When assembled, the furniture article exhibits symmetry about the folding axis and its parts complement one another so that when the article is folded, the parts interfit to form a flat compact package. Resultantly, the article can be stored singly in a confined space or in numbers in a compact stack. |
