SUITABLE FOR ADULTS, CHILDREN, OLD AND SICK PEOPLE, THE BEDS ARE IDEAL WHERE THE SEISMIC PHENOMENON HAS ALREADY HAPPENED: MAINLY AS A PSYCHOLOGICAL HELP AS PEOPLE ARE ENCOURAGED TO GET BACK THEIR HOUSES AND WILL FEEL PROTECTED DURING THE NIGHT. THE BEDS ARE STRONG, SIMPLE, UNEXPENSIVE AND CAN PROTECT PEOPLE EVEN IN ALREADY CRACKED BUILDINGS. THE INVENTION DOESN'T INTEND TO REPLACE THE ANTI-EARTHQUAKE CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES: IT MEANS TO WORK IN SYNERGY WITH THEM TRYING TO SAVE SEVERAL HUMAN LIVES. AS FOR THE PRESENT STATE OF THE TECHNOLOGY, SOME BEDS COMPOSED OF VARIOUS METALS ALREADY EXIST, BUT THEY HAVEN'T THE SAME FEATURES AS THE PROPOSED STRUCTURE: THE LATTER IS ALWAYS READY TO BE USED WITHOUT ANY PARTICULAR DEVICES THANKS TO THE COMBINATION ROOF-ABSORBER POSTS - SAFETY SYSTEM WITH EIGHT LEANING POINTS THROUGH THE SECTION - BARS LEANING ON THE SIDE WALLS OF THE ROOF AND OF THE FLOOR.

A co-sleeper convertibly adapted for use as a bassinet or changing table comprising: a frame comprising left and right side rails (58,62) and a rear rail (54), said rails being substantially horizontal and supported by a plurality of vertical supports, said left and right side rails forming a top plane, said frame further comprising a plurality of support rails (90,94), said support rails being substantially horizontal and located on a plane lower than said top plane; an upper front rail (50), said front rail being engagable at a height below said top plane or at a height wherein said upper front rail is substantially coplanar with said top plane; an enclosure (14), said enclosure being sized to fit substantially within the frame and comprising an open top (18) and a bottom panel (22), said open top having a perimeter substantially coextensive with said left and right side rails and said rear rail, said enclosure further comprising left, right and rear walls (34,38,30) extending from said perimeter to said bottom panel, said left and right walls each having a first edge joined to said rear wall, and a second edge opposite from said first edges, said enclosure further comprising a front portion (26), said front portion comprising a flap of sufficient length to allow said flap to be engaged to said upper front rail when said upper front rail is engaged to said frame at a height wherein said upper front rail is substantially coplanar with said top plane, said flap further comprising left and right edges having means for selectively joining said left and right edges to said left and right side walls, respectively, along said second edges to allow a front wall of varying height to be formed; wherein said bottom panel of said enclosure rests on said support rails when said enclosure is disposed within said frame, and further wherein said front portion is selectively joined to said left and right walls and to said upper front rail when said upper front rail is engaged to said frame; and a securing strap assembly for securing the co-sleeper to a parental bed.

A playpen (10) that converts easily to a bassinet, changing table or bed-side crib or "co-sleeper" that attaches securely to the parents' bed (262). A second enclosure support system (250) maintains a padded enclosure (222) and rigid floor panel (358) at one or more predetermined levels (218) below the top (18) of the playpen (10) to form the bassinet and co-sleeper. The second enclosure (222) has a back, two sides, a bottom and a front flap (362) that converts into a front wall (234) for use in the bassinet mode and overhangs the front horizontal rail (50) for use in the co-sleeper mode. The upper front comers (66), (70) are segmented into a movable section (178), (182) and a fixed section (174), (186) to facilitate lowering the front horizontal rail (50) to at least one lower second position (218) to accommodate various parental bed heights. Extensions (210), (214) of the fixed section are affixed to the front vertical rails (114), (118) and accept the movable sections (178), (182) in several positions to secure the rail (50) in the second positions (218). The support means (250), padded enclosure (222) and rigid floor panel (358) complete the changing table with the edges of the front flap (362) secured to the edges of the side walls. The playpen (10) is placed adjacent the parents' bed (262) for use as a co-sleeper. Means are provided to secure loose flap material (362) to the front (26) of the co-sleeper. For co-sleeper use, reinforcing straps (258) secure the unit to the parents' bed (262) and prevent movement. The unit is easily folded with its components into a compact carrying case for transport or storage. The first enclosure (14) comprises a floor panel (130) with a floor reinforcing panel (142) substantially coextensive with the floor panel (130), fixedly attached thereto, and having fastening portions (158), (166) that attach it to a rigid frame (46) part of the first enclosure (14).

The invention relates to a resting device. According to the invention this resting device comprises an at least partly horizontal lying means extending at a distance above the ground and connected at its ends with uprights, which lying means is provided with an adjustably supported tube-shaped envelope, in which an opening is formed for getting in and out of the device, said envelope comprising on either side an end ring, which end rings are supported within the uprights by support rollers.

A kit of parts for converting a bed into a four-poster comprises pelmets (12,14) for securing to the ceiling of the bedroom above and parallel with the sides and end of the bed, corner posts (2) for locating one at each corner of the bed, and four brackets (20) each including a first portion (22) for securing to the pelmets (12,14) above an associated corner of the bed and a second portion (30) pivotal on the first portion (22) and adapted to receive the upper end of an associated post, resilient means (46) reacting between the second portion (30) of the bracket and said upper end of the post, the post (2) and second portion (30) of the bracket (20) being pivotal together between an operative vertical position with the resilient means (46) urging the lower end of the post against the floor and a nonvertical position permitting insertion or removal of the upper end of the post from the bracket (20).

A bedroom cabinet in the shape of a box composed of six assembled panels, namely, a bottom panel (1), a ceiling panel (2), a front panel, a back panel, a left side panel (5), and a right side panel (6). The respective panels are made of molded synthetic resin plates each having substantially uniform thickness, with the exception of the peripheral edges which possess a relatively large thickness. A complementary engaging structure for engaging the opposite adjacent panel is provided at the respective peripheral edges of the panel. A large window also functioning as the entrance and the exit of the cabinet is provided in the front panel. A mattress (9) is laid on the bottom panel (1). A portion (10) is provided which is inwardly inclined and can be used as a backrest when one sits on the mattress (7), and is provided at either one of the left and right side panels. Also provided is a portion (11) which is outwardly recessed at the other side panel and so formed, that, when one lays down on the matrress (9), his legs can be placed on the portion (11).
