The invention relates to a safety device for babies to prevent them from sliding down under the bedding. It comprises a blocking system (1) that is situated underneath the bedding and acts as a barrier at the foot of the cot to prevent the baby form sliding down. It mainly comprises a body (2) and a fastening system (4) to attach the blocking system to the cot underneath the bedding. In particular the body (2) includes a beam (3) that is long, wide and high enough to prevent the babies' feet from passing it. The fastening system (4) includes at least one fastening string (5, 13, 14) or strap, preferably fixed to a cover (6) that fits exactly over the body (2). The cover (6) and fastening strings (5) avoid pushing up or away of the beam (3). Furthermore it is in a very inventive way possible to place the body (2, 15) of the blocking system (1) under various differently manufactured fitted sheetfabrics (10, 11, 12), wherein it is impossible for the baby to get his or her feet under the blocking system (1).

The invention relates to a safety device for babies to prevent them from sliding down under the bedding. Mattress restraining members prevent the mattress from shifting as the mattress is raised. The base frame is adapted to nest within the mattress supporting frame when the device is in a lowered position to minimize the vertical space required for the device.

The apparatus consists of a frame in which a patient lies in a supine position. The frame allows the generation of muscular forces which are transmitted to the lumbar spine area. The patient is then positioned within an MRI imaging apparatus and subjected to MRI imaging while the muscular forces are maintained. The frame may preferably include a footboard and shoulder restraints positioned as to require the patient to slightly bend the knees. Extension of the legs generates the required forces.
