17 Folding, dismountable and telescopic structure US09560831 2000-04-28 US06295669B1 2001-10-02 Jose Lopez Saus
The present invention is a folding and telescopic structure that consists of two parallelograms (1) (2), which can be flattened in opposite directions, located on the same plane and joined articulately by two springs (17) from its front (3) and back (4) jambs. These jambs (3) (4), which are “U” shaped and hollow, allow the end (5) and intermediate (6) crossbars to lodge inside to totally occupy the space available inside the hollow jambs. The end crossbar (5) has a groove (8) in which to slide a first shaft (9) of the back jamb (4) at the same time that a it can turn counter-clockwise upon a second shaft (10) of the front jamb (3) . The intermediate crossbar (6) 15 moves in a similar way, but the hinge (13) that receives the second shaft (12) is not fixed on the intermediate crossbar (6), but can be slid across it. FIG. 1.
18 Backpack frame convertible to a mattress supporting cot with a tent supporting structure US333635 1994-11-03 US5489052A 1996-02-06 Talmon C. Blood, Jr.
A backpack frame convertible to a mattress supporting cot with a tent supporting structure includes first and second generally U-shaped tubular frame sections hinged to each other and foldable between a compact position defining a backpack frame configuration and an extended position defining a normally substantially horizontally disposed cot configuration having opposing hollow side members. Each hollow side member has an open end, and the respective open ends are positioned diagonally opposite each other. When disposed in a cot configuration, the cot is supported by a plurality of support members mounted on each side member. A tent support assembly is storable in each hollow side member and extendible from the respective side member open ends to define an obliquely disposed strut and substantially horizontally disposed ridge member superposing the cot. The ridge members are releasably connectible to each other at one end and pivoted at the other end to the respective struts. Each of the tent support assemblies includes a strut support slideably retained in the respective hollow side members.

A FOLDING BED BASE. Characterized in that the frame (3) is divided into two equal portions (3a, 3b), that may be folded over one another, and wherein the slats (2) of each portion are grouped into two symmetrical movable assemblies (21), transversally movable in order to bring them closer together or separate them from one another, determining the width of the bed base (1) and reaching the necessary dimensions for use in an extended position or reducing it to half its size in the folded position. Each of the two portions (3a, 3b) of the frame, the slats (2) are incorporated on fixed longitudinal tubes (31) and telescopically extendable transversal tubes (32) grouped into the two symmetrical movable assemblies (21) wherein the separations or spaces (5) between slats (2) coincide with the width thereof, such that the slats (2) of the two assemblies are inserted between each other. Each movable assembly (21) of slats (2) has a longitudinal strip (22). Two portions (3a and 3b) of the frame (3) are joined together by means of two extendable longitudinal tubes (33), which are articulately joined to the fixed longitudinal tubes (31) of each portion. The legs (4), once dismounted, are housed in recesses (34) available in the edges of the head end and the foot end of each upper (3a) and lower portion (3b) of the frame (3).
