124 Adjustable reading bookstand US11593304 2006-11-06 US20080105811A1 2008-05-08 Jonathan Corbin Denby
A collapsible bookstand which is easily used by individuals with limited or no dexterity in one of the hands/arms. The apparatus includes a spine member defining a longitudinal axis and having a proximal section and distal section that may be interconnected by an intermediate section. The distal section defines a first thickness region of attachment for a pair of independently pivotable book trays, while the proximal section defines second regions of attachment for ends of a pair of two member linkages. The thicknesses of the attachment regions and link members permit respective link members to remain in common planes regardless of book tray orientation. Each book tray has a page retention clip having a hand graspable region dimensioned and arranged such that an individual with impaired dexterity may slip one hand underneath each page retention clip without first moving the page retention clip relative to the book tray.

A foldable desk includes a desk top, a support post, and a base. The support post is formed of an outer tube and an inner tube slidably received in the outer tube. The desk top is provided with a retaining block, which is disengageably meshed with a retaining block of the top end of the inner tube of the support post. The outer tube is provided at the bottom end with a support seat which is rotatably fastened to the base in conjunction with a locating member.
126 Arrangement in a stand, especially a music stand US09308216 1999-05-14 US06260812B1 2001-07-17 Trond Auke
The present invention relates to a stand (1) which can be collapsed for transportation and storage and unfolded when in use, comprising an upper stand head (2) arranged to support sheet-like objects, in particular sheets of music, and a rod-shaped central part (4) and preferably a lower leg arrangement (5), or similar, and with the objective of providing an improved stand both as regards its haandling, use and transportation, it is proposed according to the invention that the upper stand head (2) comprises extendable stays (6, 7).
127 Printout support US205815 1988-06-13 US4865286A 1989-09-12 C. Wayne Clayburn
A stand for supporting a packet of fanned computer printout sheets which enables easy leafing forwardly and backwardly through the packet. A rear backer plate is provided with a forwardly and upwardly extending bottom ledge designed to hold the packet in a positionally-stable upright position, and a lower substantially horizontal plate with associated ledge supports those sheets which are turned down in the packet. The rear backing plate and the lower substantially horizontal backer plate are preferably hinged to each other to permit folding-up of the entire support into a compact configuration, and the ledge for the horizontal plate is preferably hinged so it can be swung upwardly and inwardly of the horizontal plate for use with packets of sheets of lesser height. An integral horizontal rear flange limits the rearward tilt of the rear backer plate to the desired angle.
128 Foldable music stand US670348 1984-11-09 US4605193A 1986-08-12 Pertti K. Kuparinen
The purpose of this invention is a foldable music stand comprising a lectern or the like, which can be set in an inclined position, a vertical shaft and a folding leg support member. The lectern consists of a backplate and a shelf. The backplate is rotatably connected by a pivot means to the vertical shaft. The shelf of the lectern has a cross section in the shape of L and it is hinged to the lower edge of the backplate and attached by a lever into the vertical shaft. The lectern being in the inclined position or the operational position, a score is placed to rest against the backplate on the shelf. The leg support member is formed in a cross leg having a solid part and a moving part which can be moved in respect of this. The solid part is connected to the vertical shaft in the direction of the lectern. In the operational position the moving part is folded vertically in respect of the solid part. The shelf and the backplate of the lectern are foldable against each other into an upright position or a transport position, into which direction and same plane of the lectern the moving part of the cross leg is folding, the whole lectern thus being in its transport position and forming a platelike flat object.

The voting booth/lectern includes an upper shelf member and a lower support member both preferably comprised of cardboard, or other commonly used, semi-rigid, lightweight and inexpensive material. The lower support member is foldable into three sections which are generally vertically oriented, the top portions of which are insertable into a series of slots on the lower side of the upper shelf member. The upper shelf member includes four foldable sections, one of which is positioned upon and engaged by the lower support section by means of the aforementioned slots. The remaining three sections of the upper shelf member may be folded upon one another in forming a speaker's lectern or may be extended to a generally vertical orientation so as to form a semi-enclosed area providing the privacy required when the present invention is used as a voting booth. The present invention is disposable, re-usable and portable while affording a stable, generally horizontal work or support surface which may be enclosed on three sides as desired.
