The second compartment has a duct in it to receive an applicator or a stopper, and the first compartment has a filling hole closed by a substantially irremovable plug.
222 | Cosmetic preparation and method for applying same | US157715 | 1980-06-09 | US4383539A | 1983-05-17 | Alan L. Collins; Joseph A. Vota |
A cosmetic preparation comprises a cosmetic powder implanted into a film of fixative on an area of the body by applying the fixative to the area, allowing the fixative to partially dry to form a film, applying the cosmetic powder to the partially dried fixative, and allowing the fixative to completely dry. As a result of this method of applying the cosmetic powder, the powder is maintained in position by the fixative and some particles project outwardly from the film.
223 | Cosmetic dusting powder container | US881539 | 1978-02-27 | US4162010A | 1979-07-24 | Charles J. Hovsepian |
A dish-shaped insert for a cylindrical container of cosmetic dusting powder or the like has a slightly upwardly and outwardly tapering peripheral wall terminating in a narrow flange. An integrally formed, protruding, circumferential rib extending around near the midpoint of the wall cooperates with one or more recesses at the upper edge of the container wall to permit escape of air as the insert is pressed into the container and then to seal the container when the rib passes the bottom of the wall recess, so that fine powder and product fragrance do not escape. The insert is injection molded or, preferably, thermoformed of thermoplastic sheet material and may bear one or more tabs to facilitate removal as well as indicia such as a trademark or name.
224 | Disposable product applicator and dispensing package therefor | US668253 | 1976-03-18 | US4053242A | 1977-10-11 | John George Mast, Jr. |
A hand-held, generally T-shaped disposable product applicator and a dispensing package therefor. The applicator comprises a resilient applicator pad portion and an upstanding finger grip portion. The applicator pad portion is normally substantially planar with a top surface and a bottom product applying surface coated or impregnated with the product to be dispensed. The upstanding finger grip portion is normally substantially planar with its sides providing finger grip surfaces. The finger grip portion is substantially normal to and extends transversely across the top surface of the applicator pad portion, bisecting the applicator pad portion into two substantially equal flaps. The applicator pad portion is foldable along its juncture with the finger grip portion with its bottom product applying surface folded upon itself. The finger grip portion is of such thickness that when the applicator pad portion is in its folded condition each half of the applicator pad portion top surface is substantially coplanar with the adjacent finger grip portion side. The dispensing package is adapted to receive a stack of applicators each with its applicator pad portion in folded condition. The package has a dispensing opening through which the handle portion of the end-most applicator of the stack is exposed for removal.

226 | Cosmetic applicator | US34047373 | 1973-03-12 | US3837749A | 1974-09-24 | SPATZ W |
An applicator is affixed to the forward end of an elongate driver or shaft extending into a barrel structure, and having a rear head meshing with internal threads in a female member of the barrel structure, the driver being splined to a forward sleeve adapted to surround the applicator and being swivelly connected to the female member. A removable cap containing a cosmetic mass has its rear portion surrounding the sleeve and rotatable on the barrel structure, the cap frictionally engaging the external portion of the sleeve to provide a slippable clutch therewith capable of transmitting a predetermined torque before slipping, whereby relative rotation in one direction between the barrel structure, on the one hand, and the cap, sleeve and driver, on the other hand, produces forward feeding of the applicator toward and against the cosmetic mass, continued relative rotation and application of torque causing the clutch to slip, while effecting relative rotary movement between the applicator and cosmetic mass to coat the applicator with a portion of the mass. Removal of the cap exposes the coated applicator for use.
