PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient case for storing an umbrella which is capable of storing the folded umbrella and hardly runs the risk of being lost, and provide the umbrella having the case. SOLUTION: A case is connected to a lower end of a handle part 2 of a folding type umbrella through a fitting piece 10. The case to which an inner cylinder 8 and an outer cylinder 9 are fitted, is expandable in the axial direction, and a folded umbrella can be stored inside the case when the case is expanded. The inner and outer cylinders 8, 9 to constitute the case are formed by connecting a pair of half-split bodies 8A, 8A and a pair of half-split bodies 9A, 9A to each other by elastic bodies 16, 20 along each circumferential direction so as to pull each other. The folded umbrella can be stored inside the case by expanding the diameter of the inner and outer cylinders 8, 9 against the elasticity of the elastic bodies 16, 20. In the use of the umbrella 10, the umbrella bag 12 is rolled up from its free end into a smaller shape, thereafter the umbrella bag 12 rolled up into the smaller shape is encircled with the wrap-around band 30, and the second connecting member 28b and the first connecting member 28a are connected with each other. Thus, the umbrella bag 12 is held in position while kept rolled up into the smaller shape. With the umbrella 10 opened, the umbrella bag 12 rolled up into the smaller shape is suspended from the handle of the umbrella 10 via the connecting means 20.
