Systems and methods of manufacturing a shoe outsole are provided wherein at least a portion of the resulting shoe outsole includes embedded particles. An example method includes applying adhesive to at least one region of the shoe outsole, depositing selected particles onto the adhesive to provide the shoe outsole with a first coat of particles, and at least partially curing the adhesive. The method continues by applying additional adhesive over the first coat of particles, depositing additional particles onto the adhesive to provide the shoe outsole with a second coat of particles, and at least partially curing the subsequent application of adhesive. |

Disclosed is an automatic gumming system for automatically gumming an upper surface of a shoe sole or a bottom surface of a shoe body, comprises a conveying device, an data obtaining device, a treating agent applying device, a heating device, and a gumming device. The data obtaining device has an image retrieving member which is provided in a position corresponding to an image retrieving zone for the image retrieving member to scan a gumming surface of a gumming target to generate a gumming data. The treating agent applying device applies a treating agent on the gumming surface according to the gumming data. The heating device is provided in a position corresponding to a heating zone for heating the gumming surface. The gum applying device applies a gum on the gumming surface according to the gumming data, by which the quality and speed of gumming process can be enhanced. |

An adhesive coating device is provided with an adhesive reservoir; two opposite adjustment rollers at bottom of the reservoir; a pattern roller between the adjustment rollers and having a pattern formed thereon; a resilient roller under the pattern roller; a roller member under the resilient roller; two pivotal, co-rotated links on a side of the reservoir and operatively connected to the adjustment rollers respectively; and a spring biased adjustment screw pivotably secured to an end of one link. Clockwise rotation of the adjustment screw rotates the links at different directions, thereby decreasing a gap between the pattern roller and each adjustment roller. |

A nozzle having a flexible blade member with a flat adhesive-receiving surface in combination with a rotary transfer roll and side wall elements forms a reservoir for adhesive "upstream" (in the direction of roll rotation) of the line of contact of a straight edge of the surface with the roll surface, the arrangement being such that a layer of the adhesive, doctored by blade member to control its thickness and with its width controlled by the wall elements, is applied to the roll surface and carried thereby to the operating locality. An adhesive supply system is also provided for supplying adhesive to the reservoir, said system including a melting device for adhesive in solid form and pressure control means for controlling the pressure under which the adhesive is supplied. |
