PURPOSE: To obtain an artificial tree, capable of withstanding use for a long period and having natural feeling by heating a dried tree with steam, subsequently redrying the tree, then subjecting the redried tree to antiseptic treatment and further subjecting the resultant processed tree to coating and matte processing. CONSTITUTION: A live tree is sufficiently dried to provide a dried tree, which is then heated with steam to kill insects. The resultant tree is redried and impregnated with a preservative to carry out antiseptic treatment and afford a processed tree, which is subsequently coated and subjected to matte processing with a sandpaper to afford the objective artificial tree. 22 Method for joining artificial tree JP23437189 1989-09-08 JPH0397905A 1991-04-23 ISHII KIYOKUNI; SHIGITA YASUO
PURPOSE: To obtain an artificial tree capable of stable joining a trunk part to leaf parts with a joining part in a natural shape without imparting a sense of incompatibility to observers by bundling and inserting axial parts of the leaf parts into a hole part of a trunk part, simultaneously bonding and fixing the leaf parts and shaving off the cross-sectional peripheral part of the trunk part. CONSTITUTION: A hole part 3 is provided in the cross section of a trunk part 2 in the axial center direction of an artificial tree 1 and axial parts 5 of plural leaf parts 4 are bundled, inserted into the aforementioned hole part 3, simultaneously bonded and fixed. The cross-sectional peripheral part of the trunk part 2 is then shaved off to form the peripheral surface in the joined part into a gentle continuous surface and afford the objective artificial tree. The resultant artificial tree is arranged in an office, etc., and utilized for improving workplace environment, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio

An artificial decorative plant is to assemble multiple foliages first and then assembly with a main stem and is composed of a rod with resilience, a securing piece and multiple foliages, wherein the securing piece has two longitudinal sides and multiple clamping portions interlaced and formed on the two longitudinal sides respectively with multiple intervals. Additionally, multiple wrapping pieces are obliquely extended from the two longitudinal sides inside the multiple intervals respectively so that the each wrapping piece is between two adjacent clamping portions to engage corresponding foliage. By holding the rod with the clamping portions, a branch is completed and ready to mount on the main stem to construct a tree after other same branches are attached on the main stem as well.

A method for constructing model vegetation utilizing natural foliage (10) and the products resulting therefrom are described. The method includes the steps of providing a segment of natural foliage (10), immersing the natural foliage (10) into a liquid colorant, and applying leaf simulating material (22) to the natural foliage (10). For larger model vegetation or for model vegetation requiring a base (52), a tree armature (50) is utilized with additional steps including removing the branches (14) from the natural foliage (10) and affixing those branches to the tree armature (50).
