A settable margin control switch is actuated when a movable carriage printer approaches the right hand margin. In the keyboard operating mode, an audible alarm is sounded and a predetermined number of character positions later, the printing of keyboard originated data is blocked. In the automatic printing mode, no alarm is sounded, however, printing is terminated and a special character is printed beyond the right hand margin to indicate that the input data has overflowed the printed record. |

PURPOSE:To enable characters which allow to identify the content of an output to be recognized on the side of an output paper when the paper is folded by providing, a paper feed/character printing mechanism to print characters on a form sheet and a printing mechanism to print a rectangular mark across a perforation of the form sheet. CONSTITUTION:A printing control circuit 8 receives signals which indicate the total number of pages of an output paper and also characters to be output to the side of the output paper, from CPU. Further, the printing control circuit 8 receives a signal high indicates the position of a folded perforation of a form sheet 5 from a paper feeder mechanism 7. The printing control circuit 8 detects the position of the folded perforation 2 of the output paper based on the information of the above-mentioned signals and determines a pattern of rectangular mark to be hammered out based on characters and the total number of pages of the output page which are output to the side of the output paper. After this, the circuit 8 controls a printing mechanism 3. The printing mechanism 3 receives a control signal and prints a rectangular mark 1 on the folded perforation 2. No counter-folded perforation 4 is printed at all. Characters appear on the sides of the folded perforation of the output paper due to a rectangular mark by folding the output paper. |

PURPOSE:To enable corresponding names and addresses of stores to be printed by storing in a memory and inputting the names and addresses of stores based on store codes. CONSTITUTION:Store codes are entered through a keyboard. When a store code entered is new one, a store code area 15 which is empty of a store code memory 12 is selected and an entered store code is stored in said area. When the store code entered is not new one, a store code area 15 for a store code entered in advance is called. Next, the name and address of a store are entered. The name and address of a store entered in the name and address of store area of a store name and address memory corresponding to a store code area where the entered name and address of the store is entered, is stored by inputting the name and address of the store. When the name and address of a store are already stored, the stored contents are updated. When a label is issued, the name and address of the store corresponding to this store code area 15 are called from store name and address memory 13 by inputting of the store code through the keyboard 3, and the name and address of the store are printed on a label. |

PURPOSE:To enable an already printed character to be dressed later by providing a dressing key for instructing overstriking, and performing character dressing based upon the operation of said key, while providing a correction means for correcting the dressing data of a memory means. CONSTITUTION:When an operator moves a printing head M2 to a position where a character is already printed, and presses a dressing key M5, a correction means M6 performs a dressing on said character. The correction means M6 performs a correction on a dressing data of a character being contained in a character data relevant to a character in a memory means 1. By depressing the dressing key M5, a dressing data detection means M7 judges the presence of the character dressing data contained in the character data of the memory means 1 instructed by a pointer memory 4. When the judgement is 'YES', an overstriking means M8 does not perform overstriking for the dressing of said character, while when the judgement is 'NO', the means M8 performs overstriking only on the portion for dressing said character. By this operation, a character dressing can be performed even on a character already printed, thereby, a deviated overstriking can be avoided, and a well aligned character printing as compared with other printed characters can be obtained. |

PURPOSE:To enable a letter with sign to be printed at an optimum position, by controlling the driving of a feeding means so that the printing position of the letter with sign is adjusted by a predetermined amount in the vertical direction relative to the printing direction of a printing means, based on a letter size designation determined by a letter size determinating means. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 2 functions as both a determinating means and a printing position adjusting means. The CPU 2 determines a letter size corresponding to a letter code being inputted, and controls the driving of a paper-feeding part 6 so that the printing position of a letter with sign is adjusted by a predetermined amount in the vertical direction relative to the moving direction of a carrier of a printing part 5, based on the determined letter size designation and an inputted accent mark. For example, in coping with printing of a combination of an umlaut font 11 with a capital letter font 12 or a small letter font 13, the paper-feeding part 6 moves a printing sheet vertically at the time of printing of the combination of the umlaut font 11 and the capital letter font 11, thereby printing the umlaut in a combined manner. |

PURPOSE:To enable arrangement of accent symbol font at an optimum position without qualitative deterioration of the English font by superimposing accent symbol font, based on a new original point as a reference, in a buffer memory containing English font developed based on an original point as a reference. CONSTITUTION:A reading part 1 which is notified by an accent character designation signal (A) reads an eligible English font 2-1, and notifies a supervising part 4. Then the reading part 1 causes the supervising part 4 to write, for instance, English font 'A' in a rectangular region encircled with a straight line in a buffer memory 5 as illustrated. Next, the reading part 1 reads a corresponding accent symbol font 2-2 and, at the same time, notifies an address arithmetic part 3 to arithmetically determine an original point address for superimposing of the accent symbol font 202. After this, the superimposing part 4 is notified of the determined original font ' ' in a rectangular region encircled by a dotted line in the buffer memory (e.g. a region shifted upward 1/2 the size of a body face), in a superimposing mode. |

PURPOSE:To production an output by changing a mark and a color so that a copy can be identified, by a method wherein first information among document information stored in a storage means is outputted in a specific color, further the copy of the first information being outputted by adding information discriminating that it is a copy and the editing of the stored document information is controlled to be forbidden while the copy is outputted. CONSTITUTION:If a COPY key COPKY is pushed down and a ribbon is for two color printing use, which color of the two colors can be outputted is judged by a ribbon color flag RISF. When the printing of auxiliary color blue is made possible, RISF is set for black and a lever 24 is so set that black (basic color) can be printed. In order to protect a memory until COPY printing is ended, a input key is forbidden. Then, printing is carried out with each line and repeated until a page feed mark is reached. Then, only the printing on a first page is ended, RISF being set blue and the lever 24 is set of blue printing use. Then, an address pointer PPOINT is made to indicate the top on the first page and the same page is printed again in a different color. |

PURPOSE:To automatically print a center mark to be an index to a perforating position, by a method wherein a size-detecting means for detecting the size of a recording paper is provided, and a center mark is recorded at an end part of the paper on the basis of a signal from the detecting means. CONSTITUTION:Based on a printing command (a) received, it is detected whether or not a center mark designation is present (STEP 1). Next, when the printing paper is of A4 size, a 1480-clock counter B is set (STEP 3), whereas when the paper is of B5 size, a 1280-clock counter A is set (STEP 4), printing is started (STEP 5), and the counter starts counting the number N1. It is judged whether or not the counted number N1 has reached 1280 (STEP 6), and when the number N1 has reached 1280, the size of the paper is judged (STEP 7). When the paper is of B5 size, 10 clocks are set on a counter C (STEP 9), and the center mark is begun to print (STEP 10). When the paper is of A4 size, counting is further continued, and when the counted number has reached 1480, 10 clocks are set on the counter (STEP 9), the center mark is printed (STEP 10), and the counter starts counting the number N2. It is judged whether or not the number N2 has reached 10 (STEP 11), and when the number N2 has reached 10, printing of the center mark is completed (STEP 12). |

PURPOSE:To enable the printing of a character difficult to falsify, by a method wherein the size of a character and the writing start position of a character to be printed are indicated and the number of line elements constituting a character are indicated while character information to be printed is imparted and the character comprising a plurality of line elements is printed with character printing information obtained by the operation processing based on said informations. CONSTITUTION:Not only ''the size of a character'' but also ''a position to be printed'' are designated through an input apparatus 16 while ''the number of line elements constituting the character'' is indicated through said input apparatus 16 and a character to be printed by this printing method is indicated. When a processor 20 is started, said processor 20 performs required calculation at first and reads the physical address of the character to be printed to obtain said character from the character generator of exclusive memory 23. With respect to the determined character, the physical address thereof is altered to a predetermined position to output the character address information to a printing position 26. By this method, a printing apparatus prints the determined character. |

PURPOSE:To ensure that when a recording paper is outputted from one of a multiplicity of printers, it can be discriminated from which one of the printers the pape has been outputted, at a glance, by printing a printer discriminating mark on the recording paper at a position out of a printing region. CONSTITUTION:A numeral 1 is printed on the paper as a discriminating mark 11 corresponding to a printer 2-1. The mark 11 is not limited to a numeral, and may represent a numeral in terms of the number of lines or dots. Such a mark 11 can serve also as a density-checking mark which is conventionally provied. The mark 11 can be printed on the recording paper 4 at any position out of the printing region 10. The printer 2 is provided with a discriminating mark providing means in this example. However, since a printer is generally provided with a machine number, the machine number may be used as a discriminating mark, and the mark may be outputted from a computer in the same manner as printing information. |

PURPOSE:To enable a character in concern to be easily found in a document file when correcting a printed character or in other similar occasions, by automatically printing line numbers at predetermined positions when printing a formed document, in a portable-type document-forming device or the like. CONSTITUTION:Characters or the like inputted through a key input part 1 are stored in the document file 2. For example, when printing a document by designating a page of the document as a unit, a printing-controlling part 3 reads the document in terms of JIS codes (a) with each line as a unit, and operates a counter 4 by an increment. When the count reaches, for example, a prescribed multiple of 5, a line number printing command 1 is sent to a printer-controlling part 5, and prior to printing the characters or the like in the relevant line, a printer 6 is controlled to move a printing head to the left and of a paper, the count in the counter 4 indicating the line number is printed, and then the characters or the like in the line are printed. Accordingly, by checking the line numbers printed together with the document, it is possible to find the line number of the line in which a predetermined piece of document is printed. |

PURPOSE:To auxiliarily record date, time or the like at a predetermined position of a recording paper with a simple construction, by a method wherein a pattern is die-stamped on a transfer surface of a recording paper on the paper-supplying side to provide a recessed part, and solid transfer is conducted in the region in which the pattern is die-stamped. CONSTITUTION:Character patterns such as date and time are die-stamped at a predetermined position of the transfer surface of the recording paper 2 supplied to a recording part, by a pattern die-stamping means 5, to provide the recessed parts. The recording paper 2 with the predetermined patterns die-stamped thereon and an ink sheet 1 are fed to the recording part in the condition of being pressed against each other to perform solid transfer in an intended region in which the patterns are die-stamped. Accordingly, an ink is not transferred to the recessed parts H provided by die-stamping, and auxiliary recording can be conducted in which, for example, the data is recorded in reverse state at the left bottom part of a marginal part B. |
