An exhalation smoke filter mask includes an open first end and a perforated second end enclosing a filter assembly. The filter assembly includes a main filter assembly, having at least a carbon filter, and a masking filter assembly, having at least a fabric member infused with volatilizing odorous oils. Exhalation of smoke into the open first end effects filtering of the smoke by action of the carbon filter and malodors are masked by volatilization of odorous oils vented when breath is forced through the filter assembly. Thus secondhand smoke is mitigated, malodors are eliminated, and exhalations of smoke are concealable from bystanders and passersby. |

A mouthpiece for a smoking device is provided. The mouthpiece comprises a porous substrate. The porous surface comprises a wall having an outer surface having an outer cross-sectional shape and an inner surface having an inner cross-sectional shape. The inner surface defines a hollow interior space. A wall thickness is defined by the outer and inner surfaces. The porous substrate has a specific hardness of at least about 1.5 hardness % per weight (g) per length (mm) of the porous substrate. The porous substrate has a porosity of about 50% to about 70%. The inner and outer surfaces provide a wall thickness of about 20% to 60% of an area defined by the outer cross-sectional shape. |

A smoking article is formed from two component parts. These parts are a rod comprising an aerosol-forming substrate and a removable cap. The removable cap can be coupled to the rod in two configurations. In a first configuration, the removable cap is coupled to a first end of the rod and a heat source located at or near a second end of the rod heats the aerosol-forming substrate to generate an inhalable aerosol. In a second configuration, the removable cap is coupled to the second end of the rod and at least substantially covers the heat source. The smoking article is arranged in the second configuration for disposal. |

An exemplary mouthpiece assembly includes a mouthpiece. The mouthpiece includes a sucking end, a connecting end, and an air passage. The sucking end defines an air outlet, and the connecting end defines an air inlet. The mouthpiece assembly further includes a partition element dividing the air passage into an air intake chamber and an air outlet chamber. The mouthpiece further includes a sidewall defining at least one first through hole and at least one second through hole, the first through hole is in communication with the air intake chamber, and the second through hole is in communication with the air outlet chamber. The mouthpiece assembly further includes an air adjusting ring defining at least one gap. The air adjusting ring is rotatable relative to mouthpiece, so that an overlapped area among the first through hole, the at least one gap, and the second through hole can be changed. |

A mouthpiece lining paper of a filter cigarette, which mouthpiece lining paper is provided on surface regions to be adhesively bonded with a three-dimensional surface structure, that is to say with a surface which has elevations and/or depressions, wherein the elevations and depressions protrude from and are set back from the film/foil surface only locally, respectively. The mouthpiece lining paper is a film/foil. In one preferred embodiment, a row of elevations and/or depressions runs along an edge of the mouthpiece lining paper of the type which runs along the overlap region of the mouthpiece lining paper with itself on the finished cigarette. |

The invention is a cigarette casing, which is intended for independent making of a <> cigarette (papirosy) by a smoker or for bulk production. The casing of the <> cigarette has an empty mouthpiece (1) and a connected empty envelope (2) at least a part of the cavity (4) of which is intended for the allocation of the smoking material. It contains a separating partition being selectively penetrable for the smoke, installed so that at least a part of the cavity (3) of the mouthpiece (1) could be detached from at least a part of the cavity (4) of the envelope (2) and so that it is possible to overlap at least a part of the cross section of the cavity (3) of the mouthpiece (1). Its design impedes, making minor changes in the composition of the smoke, the penetration of the particles of the smoking material located in the cavity (4) of the envelope (2) into the cavity (3) of the mouthpiece (1) while filling the casing with this smoking material and into the mouth of the smoker during smoking. The casing of the <> cigarette has an empty mouthpiece (1) and a connected empty envelope (2), the length of the mouthpiece (1) not less than the length of the envelope (2), the envelope (2) overlaps the mouthpiece (1) with all its length, the mouthpiece (1) and the envelope (2) are installed so that it is possible to move them relative to each other along the common longitudinal axis. The mouthpiece (1) impedes the deformation of the part of the cavity (4) of the envelope (2) intended for the allocation of the smoking material before the placing of this smoking material. |

A filter element for use as a mouthpiece for filter cigarettes, cigarillos or cigars has an inner tubular wall with lugs which are bent inwardly from the material of the inner wall, and an outer tubular wall which seals the outer ends of openings which develop as a result of formation and bending of the lugs. The lugs and the two walls constitute a labyrinth for tobacco smoke, and the filtering action of the filter element can be enhanced by coating or impregnating the lugs and/or the inner wall with suitable chemicals which absorb or neutralize tar, nicotine and/or other deleterious ingredients of tobacco smoke. The filter element is made of a one-piece continuous paper web which is formed with lugs in a region adjacent to one of its marginal portions, which is thereupon folded over itself to form two layers, and which is thereupon converted into a continuous rod ready to be subdivided into filter elements of desired length. The outer wall of the rod has a longitudinally extending seam where one of its marginal portions overlaps and is bonded to the other marginal portion. |
