Es wird ein Wechselstiel (1) für Gartengeräte und Haushaltsgeräte mit einem Schaft (2), an dem verschiedene Garten- bzw. Haushaltsgeräteaufsätze lösbar befestigbar sind, und mindestens einem Verriegelungselement (3) zur Verriegelung eines Gartengeräte- bzw. Haushaltsgeräte-Aufsatzes mit dem Schaft beschrieben. Diese Vorrichtung soll eine größtmögliche Gestaltungsfreiheit im Hinblick auf die Ergonomie des Stiels ermöglichen sowie gleichzeitig ein unbeabsichtigtes Lösen des Aufsatzes vom Wechselstiel wirksam verhindern. Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe wird ein Wechselstiel für Garten- und Haushaltsgeräte vorgeschlagen, bei dem das Verriegelungselement stets in die Verriegelungsstellung vorgespannt ist, ein Schlitten (5), der die Bewegung der Verriegelungselemente im Zusammenwirken mit einem vom Benutzer bedienten Betätigungselement (8) bewirkt, im Inneren des Schaftes angeordnet ist und das Betätigungselement durch einen Benutzer von außerhalb des Schaftes betätigbar ist, so dass der Schlitten im Inneren des Schaftes derart von einer Ausgangsstellung in eine Betätigungsstellung bewegt wird, dass das Verriegelungselement entgegen seiner Vorspannung von der Verriegelungsstellung in die Entriegelungsstellung bewegt wird.
