41 A FOAMED PATIENT TRANSPORT INCUBATOR EP14859025 2014-11-03 EP3062699A4 2017-07-19 RAPOPORT URI
A patient transport incubator (PTI) suitable for MRI device having an open bore; the PTI comprises an inner volume having a first set of dimensions, adapted by means of shape and size to accommodate a patient or accommodate at least a portion of an MRI-compatible neonate's cradle, the inner volume is further covered by an envelope having a second set of dimensions, adapted by means of shape and size to be temporarily introduced within the open bore; wherein at least a portion of the envelope comprises MRI safe thermo-isolating and noise reducing foam. The invention will increase the safety and comfort of MRI scanning of neonates.
42 PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS HAVING AN INTEGRATED LIMB COMPRESSION DEVICE EP17156351.3 2017-02-15 EP3207911A1 2017-08-23 GILLIS, Thomas M.; ZERHUSEN, Robert M.; BRZENCHEK, David J.; SCHUMAN SR., Richard J.; TURNER, Jonathan D.; WALKE, James L.; HEIMBROCK, Richard H.

A patient support apparatus includes a frame having a patient support deck. A footboard is removably coupled to the frame. A compression therapy module is located inside the footboard or is mounted to a foot section of the frame. A sleeve port is pneumatically coupled to the compression therapy module and is located on the foot section. The sleeve port is configured for attachment to at least one tube extending from a compression sleeve worn on a limb of a patient. Control circuitry is coupled to the frame and is operable to control functions of the patient support apparatus and to control the compression therapy module. A graphical display screen is coupled to the control circuitry and displays user inputs that are selected to control functions of the patient support apparatus and the compression therapy module.

43 NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING SYSTEM FOR INFANTS AND METHOD IMAGING THEREOF EP14899546.7 2014-09-25 EP3178394A1 2017-06-14 ZHAO, Huawei; WANG, Hua

A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system for infants and children and imaging method thereof are disclosed. The system includes: a base (10); a housing (20), with a bottom fixed to the base; a monitoring shield (30), pivotably connected to the top of the housing (20); a pair of open magnets (40), which are spaced apart from each other and fixed to the base (10) by a magnet holder (50) such that an imaging area is defined between them; an operating table (60), fixed in the imaging area; an incubator (70), movably connected to the operating table (60) and configured to house an infant or child and to adjust the position of the infant or child in the imaging area. The monitoring shield (30) has a closed configuration and an open configuration. In the closed configuration of the monitoring shield (30), the magnet holder (50), the open magnet (40), the operating table (60) and the incubator (70) are all situated within a space delimited by the base (10), the housing (20) and the monitoring shield (30). With this optimized structure, the system allows a radiologist to more accurately and intuitively adjust and understand the position and angle at which the infant or child is imaged. In addition, with the incubator (70), the system can provide the infant or child with a safer and more comfortable environment. Therefore, it entails a systematic MRI solution for newborns, infants and children.
