This application relates to operating tables and accessories designed to facilitate surgical procedures on a limb, especially, but not exclusively, orthopaedic procedures involving distraction, dislocation or replacement of a joint. A such accessory includes a component (100) to be mounted on an operating table and including a patient support (103); a floor-standing component (200) including: an articulated limb support (205); a receptacle (211) adapted to hold the limb; and

cooperating retention features on the limb support (205) and the limb receptacle; a proximal limb pad (272, 414) on one of the two components (100, 200); cooperating locating features on the two components (100, 200), adapted to locate the components (100, 200) relative to each other such that with the patient support (103) supporting at least some of the weight of the patient and the limb receptacle (211) holding the limb, the articulated limb support (205) is properly positioned to support and manipulate the limb and the proximal limb pad (272, 414) lies below a proximal portion of the limb; and

means for reversibly raising the limb pad relative to the limb receptacle (211) to apply a lifting force to the proximal portion of the limb.

156 CARRIAGE FOR A SURGICAL BOOT OF A HIP DISTRACTOR EP15190464.6 2013-09-06 EP2992867A3 2016-06-15 CATACCHIO, Anthony V.; DRAKE, Jesse Scott; CLARK, Andrew D.; NEWEY, Frederick K.; LIBBY, Dustin T.; STEINBERG, Sarah

A carriage for a limb support includes a space for receiving a longitudinal member of a patient support apparatus, a plurality of rollers configured to engage the longitudinal member and a locking mechanism. The plurality of rollers is configured to maintain alignment of the carriage during movement of the carriage along the longitudinal member. The carriage also includes an elastomeric member that resists rotation to prevent unwanted motion of the carriage. The locking mechanism is configured to secure the carriage to the longitudinal member at any of an infinite number of positions along the length of the longitudinal member, the locking mechanism being lockable with a single action.
