The invention concerns a watch comprising a case (10) and, arranged therein: a movement which has a time base, a clockwork driven by the time base and manual correcting means (18) for acting on the clockwork; and time displaying means comprising a dial (12) and at least two hands (14, 16) driven by the clockwork and moving in front of the dial (12) to indicate hours and minutes. The watch further comprises: hour counter means (42, 48, 50, 46, 62); complementary display means (22) associated with the hour counter means to indicate the content thereof and designed to complete a cycle in one week; and a clutch (44) designed to activate the hour counter means by connecting them with the clockwork.
8 CLOCK AND TIME MEASURING METHOD EP99917094 1999-04-21 EP0996042A4 2004-03-17 AKAHANE HIDEHIRO; OKUHARA KENICHI; MARUYAMA AKIHIKO; KOIKE NOBUHIRO
A clock (1000) having at least a function of measuring the time and a function of measuring an arbitrary elapsed time, wherein when a predetermined time has elapsed after a hand position was temporarily stopped during measurement of the arbitrary elapsed time, the temporary stop is released, and the hand is moved to the hand position indicating the elapsed time. The temporary stop time can be shortened by automatically releasing, when a predetermined time has elapsed, the state where the hand is temporarily stopped, thereby reducing the power consumed to move the hand to the real hand position when the temporary stop is released.

10 TIMER BASED ON CHEMICAL SENSING US15380449 2016-12-15 US20170097612A1 2017-04-06 Ramkumar Abhishek; Sourobh Raychaudhuri; Ashish Pattekar
An elapsed timer device includes a timer element comprising a timer chamber, a timer chamber conditioning material disposed within the timer chamber, and a sensor arranged to sense a timer chemical within the timer chamber. The sensor indicates elapsed time in response to a threshold level of the chemical being present within the timer chamber. The timer chamber, timer chemical adsorption/desorption characteristics of the timer chamber conditioning material, and the sensor are configured so that an amount of the timer chemical within the timer chamber reaches the threshold level within a predetermined time after initialization of the timer element.

The chronograph mechanism also includes at least one indicator which displays the seconds and first fractions of a second of the duration measured. The chronograph gear train includes an additional mobile (5) with a second precision corresponding to a second fraction of a second, which is driven by the mobile (3) for the first fraction of a second by a mobile (4) compensating the backlash; and the chronograph mechanism also includes an indicator for the second fractions of a second, which are smaller than the first fractions of a second, of the duration measured, which indicator is actuated by the additional train.
13 Time measurement device and time measurement method US09446377 2000-02-29 US06370087B1 2002-04-09 Hidehiro Akahane; Kenichi Okuhara; Akihiko Maruyama; Nobuhiro Koike
In a time measurement device (1000) having, at least, both a function of measuring standard time and a function of measuring any elapsed time, when a predetermined amount of time passes from a temporary suspension of a watch hand in position in the middle of the measurement of the elapsed time, the suspension of the watch hand is automatically released and the watch hand is driven to a watch hand position indicating the elapsed time. Provided thereby is the time measurement device which automatically releases the temporary suspension state in time measurement after the predetermined amount of time, thereby shortening the temporary suspension time and reducing power consumed to drive the watch hand to an originally expected watch hand position at the release of the temporary suspension.
