PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and provide a higher fashionability, by driving a pointer directly with a permanent magnet from outside a closed case to set time. CONSTITUTION:A part mostly made up of non-magnetic material is sealed into a closed housing 2. The rotation of a pulse motor 5 is transmitted to a second pointer shaft 12 and further to a minute pointer gear 18 with a gear. The gear 18 is pivotted on a minute pointer shaft 20 and engaged detachably with a drive piece 22 made up of a magnetic material through a clutch 21. Therefore, as a permanent magnet 26 approaches from outside the housing 2, the drive piece 22 is moved on the shaft 20 being attracted by a magnetic ring 25 to be released from the engagement with the gear 18, facilitating the movement of a minute pointer. The drive piece 22 is allowed to follow a magnet 16 with a slight clearance between the ring 25 and the piece 22 and drives the shaft 20 and the minute pointer 27 to set time. This provides a smaller number of parts and a higher fashionability.

PURPOSE:To reduce cost by coupling a gear communicating with a time display wheel train and pinion by a magnet, etc. and releasing the coupling by an operating member in the stage of hand setting. CONSTITUTION:The operating member 2 is cooperatively moved and is positioned by an angle part 2c when an external operating member 1 is pulled by one step. The gear 4a is pushed upward in the axial direction of a transmission wheel, by which the magnetical coupling of the wheel 4a and the magnet 10 is released. The pinion 1b formed to the top end of the member 1 is meshed with a minute wheel 5. When the member 1 is rotated further, the wheel 5 is rotated and an hour wheel 7 and a center wheel 6 are rotated. The rotation of the wheel 6 is transmitted to the pinion 4b and the magnet 10 but the gear 4a is not coupled to the magnet 10 and is therefore not rotated. A second wheel 8 is not rotated. The cost of production is thus reduced and the reliability is improved.

PURPOSE:To decrease the thickness of a titled timepiece and to facilitate a time adjustment by fitting a movement to a front cover rotatably and driving an hour hand by a cam in engagement with a fixed gear provided in the front cover. CONSTITUTION:The timepiece movement 6 is fixed in a movement case 7, which is fitted rotatably around the annular engagement projection part 5 of the front cover 1. The minute hand shaft 10 of the movement 6 is aligned to the centers of the case 7 and fixd gear 4 and pieces the fixed gear 4. An hour hand 13 engages the eccentric cam 11b of a minute hand bush 11 through a cam hole 13a and has an internl gear 13b engaging the fixed gear 4. Thus, the thickness is reduced and a time adjustment is made on the front surface, facilitating the time adjustment.
