A shaft is journalled in a housing for turning movement about an axis; the shaft has a first portion and a second portion. A pendulum is fast with the first portion elongated radially of the axis for swinging movement about the same and a pair of anchor plates are mounted on the second portion axially spaced in parallel planes. The blades each have a first surface both of which face in one axial direction and a second surface which both face in the opposite axial direction. Each of the first surfaces is inclined to and has an edge portion which extends at least substantially radially of the axis and is convexly curved on a small radius in direction axially of the shaft towards the respectively associated second surface. A circumferentially toothed wheel is mounted and biased for rotation in a plane at least substantially normal to the planes of the anchor plates and parallels the axis so that consecutive teeth of the wheel engage first one of the first surfaces to slide along the same to and over the edge portion past the associated second surface while concomitantly imparting to the plates and thereby to the pendulum a swinging pulse and to subsequently abut against the other of the first surfaces where it again slides past the edge portion and second surface while the next-following tooth engages the first-mentioned first surface.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm watch which operates with relating not only a predetermined time but a predetermined date.SOLUTION: In the alarm device, when a selected date comes, a first releasing wheel 3 is pressed on a wheel 2 having a predetermined date function by perpendicular moving shown by an arrow A2. Simultaneously, a trigger element 4 for date function is also lowered along with an arrow A4, and when it reaches the selected time, a second releasing wheel 7 is pressed on the wheel 2 having predetermined date function by perpendicular moving shown by the arrow A4. Simultaneously, a trigger element 6 for a time function is also lowered along with an arrow A5, by this action, a hammer 9 is released and time alert function is operated. When a present date becomes equal to a released date value, a stopper 2' of the wheel 2 having a predetermined date function puts back the first releasing wheel 3, similarly, when a present time becomes equal to the released time value, a stopper of a wheel 8 for a predetermined time function puts back the second releasing wheel 7. That is, an alarm is operated only when both conditions of a predetermined time and predetermined day are confirmed. | ||||||

17 | Bell tone apparatus for a clock | US47463674 | 1974-05-30 | US3908352A | 1975-09-30 | HAAG ALBRECHT |
A clock, having a shaft which rotates in unison with the clock hands, is provided with a bell tone apparatus adapted to be actuated at periodic intervals to provide an audible tone. The apparatus comprises a bell mounted on the clock housing, a hammer supported by a spring adjacent the bell, and a cam mounted on the shaft for rotation with the shaft, the cam being located at a position adjacent the hammer to engage the hammer and move it progressively away from the bell as the shaft rotates. The cam is shaped to release the hammer from engagement therewith at a predetermined angular position of the rotating shaft whereby the released hammer is impelled by the spring back toward the bell to strike the bell and thereby provide an audible tone.
