Apparatus comprising primary and auxiliary eyeglasses and further comprising:

a plurality of magnets mounted on said primary eyeglasses;

a plurality of magnets mounted on said auxiliary eyeglasses for mating beneath said plurality of magnets on said primary eyeglasses;

said plurality of magnets on said primary eyeglasses and said plurality of magnets on said auxiliary eyeglasses being oriented when mated such that the maximum magnetic attractive force between said magnets is oriented vertically parallel to lenses in said primary eyeglasses;

each of said plurality of magnets on said primary eyeglass being mounted in a universal adapter constructed to be mounted on said primary eyeglasses with existing hardware;

whereby said plurality of magnets on said auxiliary eyeglasses when mated beneath said plurality of magnets on said primary eyeglasses provides maximum resistance to downward movement of said auxiliary eyeglasses thereby preventing said auxiliary eyeglasses from detaching from said primary eyeglasses.

A method for assembly of an eyewear and an eyewear structure are provided to incorporate preferred properties into the eyewear. A lens is encircled by a rim element having the preferred properties thereby forming a lens unit which is removably attached to the eyewear structure. Therefore, the lens can be better retained within the eyewear structure. Such lens units can be made interchangeable one to another, and with a variety of individual properties such that replacement of the lens unit attached to the eyewear structure with a selected one of the interchangeable lens units, will change the properties of the eyewear as per user's preferences.
345 SUNGLASSES ATTACHED TO EYEGLASSES USING REPELLING MAGNETIC FORCE EP03791660 2003-08-27 EP1543378A4 2006-03-08 SPIEGEL JAY H
Sunglasses are designed to be removably attached to existing eyeglasses using magnetic repelling force. The existing eyeglasses (10) may have lenses (12, 14) to which are attached side extensions (21, 23) to which are attached ear pieces (29, 31). On the inboard side of the lenses, a bridge (15) interconnects them. The sunglasses (40) have a bridge (45) to which is attached sunglass lense's (42, 44). The attachment means consists of a rearwardly facing arm (46, 47) on the sunglasses to which a magnet (49, 51) is affixed and magnets (26, 28) affixed on the eyeglasses in alignment with the magnets on the sunglasses. At each side of the eyeglasses, brackets (22, 24) are provided. The magnets are arranged, on each side of the eyeglasses and sunglasses, respectively, so that when the sunglasses are placed into adjacency with the eyeglasses, like poles of the adjacent magnets face one another to create a repelling force that forces the magnets on the sunglasses rearwardly away from the magnets on the eyeglass frames, and into a recess formed by the cross-section of the brackets. The repelling force between the magnet pairs retains the magnets carried by the sunglasses within the recesses in the L-shaped brackets to maintain the sunglasses mounted on the eyeglasses.
346 BASE AND AUXILIARY EYEGLASS SYSTEM USING MAGNETS EP03754263 2003-10-23 EP1558963A4 2006-01-18 PARK HUN-YANG

The present invention relates to a structure for fixing a side shield for glasses. In a side shield for glasses in which a connection member is installed between a glasses frame and a glasses lens, and the glasses leg is rotatably installed to the connection member, so that it is possible to surround a part of the glasses leg and the connection member and prevent a foreign substance which is provided through the sides of the glasses, and a through port is formed in an upper side of the hinge portion between the glasses leg and the connection member, there is provided a structure for fixing a shield for glasses in which a bolt (11) capable of rotatably connecting the connection member (2) and the glasses leg (3) is installed through a through port (4a) of the side shield (4) in such a manner that a surrounding surface of the head (11a) of the bolt (11) is provided near an inner surrounding surface of the through port (4a) of the side shield (4). Therefore, in the present invention, the structure for fixing a side shield for glasses according to the present invention is capable of easily installing a side shield based on a work that a bolt is engaged to a hinge portion of the connection member and the glasses leg, namely, a work that the glasses leg is rotatably engaged to the connection member, by improving a bolt which hinge-engages the glasses leg without using an additional element. Therefore, in the present invention, it is possible to easily enhance a productivity by simply assembling the side shield to the glasses.
