PURPOSE: A glasses leg folding and unfolding apparatus is provided to maintain a folded or unfolded state continuously by making a folding operation conducted only by a force of a user. CONSTITUTION: A glasses leg folding and unfolding apparatus comprises a glasses frame(10), a glasses leg(20), a fixing pin(15), and a spring(13), and keeping grooves(24). Fixing protrusion pieces(11,21) are adhered at a folding and unfolding portion of the glasses frame(10) and the glasses leg(20), and are hinge-connected by the fixing pin(15). The keeping grooves(24) are formed at a cylindrical surface(23) which is located at an end of a connection portion(22) of the fixing protrusion piece(21). A fixing ball(14) is selectively inserted in the keeping grooves(24) elastically supported by the spring(13) inside a connection groove(12) of the fixing protrusion piece(11). |

A frame for spectacles having arms that can be opened out resiliently comprises at least one lug (3) and at least one arm (2) which is articulated to the lug by means of a tie rod (5) hinged to the lug (3) and slidingly associated with the arm (2), resilient means being active between the arm (2) and the tie rod (5) in order to urge the arm towards the lug. The resilient means comprise at least one helical spring (12) extending along a substantially longitudinal axis (K), corresponding to the direction of application of the resilient urging, the axes (L) of the turns of the spring (12) being inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis (K) in order to confer on the spring a substantially flattened configuration transverse to the longitudinal axis. |

An apparatus for releasably attaching a temple to a lense frame. In one aspect, the inventive apparatus comprises: a grasping mechanism, at the forward end of the temple, for releasably, pivotably, and directly graping a hinge pin provided on the lense frame, and a finger-operatable actuator for actuating the grasping mechanism to selectively release and pivotably grasp the hinge pin. When the graping mechanism is secured to the hinge pin, the forward end of the temple will preferably be positioned directly adjacent to the lense frame such that the grasping structure is substantially hidden from outside view. Alternatively, the apparatus can comprise: and insert structure pivotably attached to the lense frame; a cavity provided in the forward end of the temple for receiving the insert structure; and a catch mechanism for releasably retaining the insert structure in the cavity. When the insert structure is retained in the cavity, the forward end of the temple will preferably be positioned directly adjacent to the lense frame such that the insert structure is substantially hidden form outside view. |
