PURPOSE: To obtain an indicator cap to indicate every time when a medicine bottle has once been opened in a way that an indicator wheel includes a claw mounted on the wheel, the claw is coupled with a pair of gears of an outside cover, the outside cover is only coupled with the gear when a device is opened. CONSTITUTION: A gear teeth 120 is formed at the side of a bottom portion on an outside cover 100 so as to be geared with a claw 220 positioned on an indicator wheel when an outside cover 100 is rotated in the direction of an arrow mark 130. The indicator wheel 200 is rotated in the direction of the arrow mark 130 by coupling the claw 220 to the gear teeth 120 when the outside cover 100 is rotated. A projection 310 mounted on a snap cover 300 is fitted to a throttle 140 provided on the outside cover 100, and gear with a group 150. When the projection 310 is contacted with the side wall 160 of the throttle 140, the snap cover 300 is started to rotate, and the a sealing cap 20 is rotated. Disclosed is an indicator cap (10) for indicating each time a bottle is opened and re-closed having an outer cover (100) shaped in the manner of a conventional bottle cap with a window (110) in the top piece of the cap. The cap is designed to be attached to the sealing cap (20) of the container such that some motion can occur between the two caps during opening and closing of the container, and this lost motion drive is used to advance the indicator. Underneath the window, and within the body of the device, is an indicator wheel (200) having numbers, days, times, etc. engraved or printed thereon which are visible through the window (110) to indicate the next time a dose of the medication should be taken. The indicator wheel contains a pawl (220) formed therein or attached thereto that engages a set of teeth (120) formed in the underside of the top piece of the outer cover, only when the device is being opened.
