The present invention relates to an apparatus to measure a muzzle velocity of a warhead such that the warhead fired from a projectile can be exploded on an accurate explosion position. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus to measure a muzzle velocity comprises: a muzzle velocity calculating unit which includes a pair of cores separately installed on two points on an adapter and wound with a probe coil, and outputs a muzzle velocity signal based on an eddy current signal generated by the probe coil when a warhead is fired and passed the adapter; and a transmitting unit which transmits the calculated flying velocity information to the warhead. Therefore, the apparatus to measure a muzzle velocity can perform an odometry correction such that the warhead can be exploded on an accurate position of a target by measuring the actual flying velocity of the fired warhead through the eddy current signal generated by an eddy current sensor through the formation of the eddy current sensor in a projectile barrel. |
