16 BROADHEAD COLLARS EP16165062.7 2015-06-30 EP3062061A1 2016-08-31 Pedersen, William E.

Collars (510) are provided for broadheads (500). In some embodiments, the collars are shock collars with frangible tabs (514a,514b,414c) which restrain the blades (530a,530b,530c) of an expandable broadhead during flight, stabilizing the flight path of the expandable broadhead. The frangible tabs break off of the shock collar upon impact, allowing the blades of the expandable broadhead to deploy and increase the size of the entrance hole made in the target. In some embodiments, the collars center a ferrule (520) of a broadhead within an insert of an arrow.

19 DIVERSION OF SAILING VESSEL BY TETHERING METHOD AND APPARATUS THEREFOR WITH HARPOON MEANS EP07835517.9 2007-10-25 EP2084054A1 2009-08-05 FONG, Saik Hay; TAN, Hong Soon; TOH, Chee Hwee; CHUA, Weng Heng
A method for diverting a sailing vessel is disclosed. A watercraft (10) equipped with a harpoon (12) having a hull-piercing head and a tail attached to a cable may swiftly approach the vessel in the aft position. Upon piercing the hull an extraction-preventing means, such as spokes unfolded from the head, latching it in the hull and preventing the harpoon's withdrawal. Via a cable attached to the tail of the harpoon (12) the watercraft (10) may use low-speed high- traction propulsion means such as Voith-Schneider Propulsion (VSP) (16) to pull an divert the vessel at the stern to a desired course. The watercraft (10) may preferably have a combination of lifting hydrofoils (18a, 18b) with propellers (20), and VSP propellers (16) to provide the respective low-traction high-speed and high-traction low-speed modes of o eration.
20 CAVITATING CORE EP07747813.9 2007-02-12 EP2053342A1 2009-04-29 POLOVNEV, Andrey Albertovich; KHASIAKHMETOV, Vladimir Shaymukhametovich

The invention relates to ammunition for missile weapon and firearm.

The cavitating core of the invention comprises a head part conjugated with a secant nose surface along the cavitating edge, a central part, and an aft part with a gliding surface, wherein the caliber of the core is defined by the maximum diameter of the circle describing the core cross-section. The contour line enveloping the cross-sections from the cavitating edge to the core caliber in the plane of the core axial longitudinal section is limited by the dependence: Dx=d×1+Lx/d×2×sin φ/π1/NN,

where

Dx - is the current diameter of the core enveloping contour R, mm;

d - is the cavitating edge diameter, mm;

Lx - is the current distance from the cavitating edge to the core caliber, mm;

ϕ = 60°...270° - is the apex angle of the tangents to the secant nose surface at the points of its conjugation with the cavitating edge measured from the side of the head part;

N = (2π / ϕ)0,4...(2π / ϕ)0,2 - is the core volume factor, wherein the core caliber is equal to the current diameter of the core enveloping contour Dx.

As a result the invention makes it possible to increase the effective distance for hitting underwater targets when shooting from the air to the water and/or during underwater shooting using arbalests, harpoon guns, artillery, small and sporting-and-hunting weapons.
