41 Pack of heat-generating countermeasures EP04445095.5 2004-09-15 EP1637829A1 2006-03-22 Zätterqvist, Christer; Friede, Johan; Ringstedt, Martin

The invention relates to a pack (2) of heat-generating countermeasures (14). The pack comprises a container (7) with a lid (13) forming a tight-closing pack and accommodating the heat-generating countermeasures (14) in the form of material which oxidizes on contact with oxygen and thus generates heat. The pack is intended to be dispensed from sea, land or air-based systems for generating decoys. The pack (2) according to the invention is designed so that it is possible to maximize the quantity of oxidizing material in a given volume, so that it is possible to adapt the oxidation properties of the oxidizing material to the situation in which it is to be used and so as to minimize the quantity of material which lands on the ground after use. According to the invention, this is achieved by virtue of the fact that the oxidizing material consists essentially of oxidizing powder joined together to form one or more joined-together bodies.

43 INFRA-RED EMITTING DECOY FLARE EP00993925.7 2000-12-13 EP1342047A1 2003-09-10 CALLAWAY, James Dominic,DERA Farnborough; SUTLIEF, Timothy Douglas,DSTL
An infra-red emitting decoy flare capable of diverting an incoming missile equipped with a counter-countermeasures system away from an intended target consisting of a primer flare (2), a spectral flare (4) and a means for igniting the primer flare (22, 30), all contained within a flare casing (6). The primer flare (2) is formed from a fast burning pyrotechnic composition and is adapted to produce an intense infra-red source of short duration on ignition. The spectral flare (4) is ignited by the burning of the primer flare (2) and is adapted to produce a slower burning composition having a fixed ratio in the intensity of infra-red radiation emitted, when burning, in at least two fixed bands.

47 VERFAHREN ZUR SCHEINZIELERZEUGUNG EP94920388.9 1994-07-04 EP0664876B1 1997-10-15 BANNASCH, Heinz; WEGSCHEIDER, Martin; FEGG, Martin; BÜSEL, Horst
The invention concerns a flare composition, containing an incendiary component and an inert component, for the generation of decoy targets. The composition is characterized in that the ratio by weight of the incendiary component to the inert component is selected such that the peak spectral radiation intensity of the flare composition is displaced towards longer wavelengths to make it more similar to the spectral intensity distribution of the target signature to be simulated than the spectral intensity distribution of the radiation from the incendiary component alone.

49 Infrared illuminant EP90312213.3 1990-11-08 EP0430464A3 1992-04-22 Nielson, Daniel B.; Jones, Leon L.

An infrared illuminant composition and flares produced therefrom having increased burn rate and increased infrared intensity while maintaining low visible light intensity. The composition comprises potassium nitrate, cesium nitrate, hexamine, boron, silicon, ferric oxide and a binder. A process to produce infrared illuminant flares prevents or substantially eliminates chunking out of burning pieces of the illuminant at pressing increments in the flares. A multi-stepped pressing foot (10) is used for pressing the composition in the case.

50 A flare charge insulation, a method of its manufacture and a flare charge manufactured according thereto EP87850163.4 1987-05-15 EP0247013A3 1991-11-27 Gellerstedt, Nils; Johansson, Siv

The present invention relates to a novel type of flare charge insulation for retally burning flare charges. The flare charge insulation (4) according to the present invention is produced by compaction of a particulate material or granulate of a mean particle size wich does not exceed 1 mm. The major component parts of the granulate are an organic metal salt, and minor amounts of a combustible binder. Moreover, particulate melamine may be included in an amount of up to 2O weight per cent.

The present invention also includes a novel method of producing flare charges (1) in which both the flare charge and flare charge insulation are terminally compacted together to form a continuous unit.

Consequently, the present invention also relates to the finished flare charge manufactured according thereto.

More specifically, the invention relates to a cartridge which is characterised in that it consists of: a launch tube (100), an ejectable projectile (200) comprising at least one charge (210) which at least partially made from an energetic material and an initiation relay (230), a propellant means which is associated with the launch tube (100) and which is designed to propel the projectile (200) upon command, and a piston (150) which is disposed inside the launch tube (100) between the projectile (200) and the propellant means. According to the invention, the launch tube (100) and the piston (150) comprise means (130) which are used to separate the piston (150) and the projectile (200) when the latter exits the launch tube (100). Moreover, the piston (150) comprises at least one through passage (154) which can transmit an initiation between the propellant means and the initiation relay (230) of the projectile (200), as well as means (158) which prevent an initiation transmission between the relay (230) and the charge (210) before the piston (150) and the projectile (200) separate from one another.
56 COLD FIREWORK ERUPTION DEVICE EP15894516 2015-12-30 EP3184953A4 2018-01-17 WANG TONGXIANG; YU LING; CHEN JIANGBO; ZHOU XIAOWEN
