1 Muzzle cover for fire tube arms EP80850085.4 1980-06-10 EP0022756A2 1981-01-21 Annerfalk, Karl-Erik

A muzzle cover for fire arms of the type having a barrel (5) through which a shell or a similar projectile is intended to be launched. The muzzle cover is made of an elastic material and comprises a collar (12) which carries a flexible diaphragm (13) and which is adapted to be pushed over the muzzle of the barrel (5). The diaphragm (13) is bowed concavely inwards and is integral with the collar (12) over a recess (15) which is bowed convexly outwards and has a reduced thickness of material as compared with the diaphragm (13). The recess (15) provides a kerf for removing the diaphragm (13) when the pressure in the barrel (5) has increased to a predetermined level when the shell or similar projectile is launched. The collar (12) is slightly conical so that the muzzle cover can be forced onto the barrel, and the collar (12) has a successively reduced thickness in the direction rearwardly.

3 IMPACT PROTECTION DEVICE EP00906829.7 2000-02-01 EP1171747A1 2002-01-16 SCHNYDER, Rolf; SANDSTRÖM, Kent
The present invention relates to an impact protection device (1) for a weapon. The impact protection device is disposed, in use, to surround the barrel of a weapon at least in its muzzle region. The device has a design and includes material portions which result in mechanical forces applied against the weapon in these portions, e.g. impact, are absorbed in that the portions are deformed. In order to improve the impact absorption and also for purposes of saving material, the impact absorbing part (1a) is provided with flanges (5). The form of the impact-absorbing part is adapted to the form of each respective weapon. As a rule, three variations are required for each weapon model, one variation for surrounding the barrel of the weapon when this is provided with a flashguard (14), one variation to be employed when the barrel is provided with equipment for firing blank ammunition, and one variation when the barrel lacks supplementary equipment.

6 Preventative Gun Safety Device US15055634 2016-03-28 US20160273877A1 2016-09-22 Christopher Lawrence Martin; Lawrence David Martin
Preventative gun safety devices and methods for their use are provided. These devices are useful for providing visual recognition and warning of a loaded gun, thereby reducing the potential for an accidental discharge of a loaded gun. Generally, the present invention is a device that is non-permanently attached to any gun and is comprised of a rectangular strip, thermoplastic strap-like member and generally using a hook and loop type tape to adhere to itself by wrapping circularly around itself to attach to the barrel or any part of any gun. A rectangular nylon pull tab is sewn permanently to one end of the strip with cautionary wording and symbols sewn or stamped onto it to identify the purpose of the device and to convey proper warning.
7 DEVICE FOR PREVENTING DUST AND MOISTURE FROM ENTERING A FIREARM BARREL US11849392 2007-09-04 US20110000122A1 2011-01-06 Jimmy G. Camarillo
A muzzle cover for a firearm comprising a soft, flexible and resilient member that slides over and frictionally engages the front end of the muzzle. The cover comprises a substantially cylindrical sheath that is open at a first end to receive the front end of the muzzle therein and which frictionally engages the external surface of the muzzle. A conical tip is integrally formed with the sheath and extends outwardly from the sheath and over the opening to the barrel. The conical tip may extend forwardly away from the front of the sheath or may be depressed inwardly into the bore of the sheath upon application of gentle pressure from a fingertip. The muzzle cover completely disengages from the muzzle when a projectile is fired from the weapon.

13 Desiccating cartridge for firearm barrels US41489773 1973-11-12 US3849923A 1974-11-26 HAWKINS E
A cartridge-shaped container is provided which contains desiccating material, and which serves to prevent corrosion within the barrel of the firearm. The cartridge is insertable into the firing chamber of the firearm, and it contains molecular sieve adsorbent pellets which adsorb the moisture present in the bore of the barrel, so as to prevent rust and other forms of corrosion due to moisture within the barrel. An impervious plug is provided having a hollow end which fits over the end of the cartridge in friction fit with the cartridge to preserve the integrity of the molecular sieve pellets when the cartridge is not in use, and the other end of the plug is dimensioned to be insertable into the muzzle of the firearm to seal and enclose the bore of the barrel when the cartridge is in place in the firing chamber. The molecular sieve pellets within the cartridge may take the form of synthetically produced crystalline metal aluminol-silicates which have a strong affinity for water and certain other gases and liquids.

The device comprises a resilient plastic cap having an internal ledge, within which is received the end of the sight guard sleeve of the gun case and a resilient plug. The plug has projections which pass through holes in the sleeve and are retained behind the ledge in the cap by interference fit and engagement with the ledge. The plug presents a closed end face to the gun muzzle, and with the cap, defines an air enclosure so that impacts of the muzzle of the plug end face are absorbed without shock by the resilient cushioning effect of the interfitted plug and cap.
