PURPOSE: A device for stimulating saliva secretion installed between the upper and lower teeth, which has good effect on a lumbago, a headache, insomnia, uneasiness, menstrual irregularity, stiffness in neck and shoulder, and chronic tiredness by recovering the disorder in saliva secretion, and maintain skeletal balance by correcting false occlusion, thus preventing nerve system from being disordered, is provided. CONSTITUTION: A device for stimulating saliva secretion works as follows: forming elliptical main body(1) having a certain width and length made of synthetic rubber and teeth track(2), where 6-8 of teeth corresponding to advance part of lower teeth are to be inserted, from bottom part to inner part in the main body; inserting the advance part of the lower teeth(8) between the higher and lower jaw; and raising the occlusion state, thereby promoting saliva secretion. A preparation method of the device is comprised of: mixing synthetic rubber in liquid form with activating liquid to form into a gel; forming an elliptical body having similar shape with teeth bone using the resulted synthetic rubber; making main body by pressing the formed body onto the 6-8 of the lower teeth, forming a teeth track on bottom of the main body; and removing the main body from the teeth, when the synthetic rubber becomes hardened.

A tooth-fixing member (1) of a shape memory alloy including two pairs of fixing fingers (1a,1b) formed on both sides of a band base for engaging teeth, the pair of fixing fingers being processed to open in parent phase and close in martensite phase. Tooth fixing procedure includes the steps of: forming a cavity (2) in each of plural target teeth; inserting each pair of fixing fingers of the tooth-fixing member in martensite phase into the cavity; and heating the tooth-fixing member to the parent phase to open the fixing fingers so as to fix the teeth together. The tooth-fixing member is applicable to various dental treatments, which include: fixation of teeth which are loose due to periodontal diseases like pyorrhea alveolaris; fixation of teeth to ensure a space for a tooth to erupt; fixation of a tooth which is extruding abnormally; fixation of a transplanted tooth; and correction of slanting teeth.

The present invention discloses high viscosity sustained release dental compositions, such as tooth bleaching or fluoride compositions, for treating tooth surfaces. For maximum results, an improved dental tray having reservoirs for holding the dental composition adjacent the desired tooth surfaces is preferably used in combination with the sustained release dental composition. The sustained release dental compositions include a high carboxypolymethylene concentration which results in very high viscosity. The high level of carboxypolymethylene makes dilution of the dental compositions from saliva difficult and time consuming so that the compositions stay within the tray reservoirs, thereby providing sustained release. The concentrated carboxypolymethylene adds a unique tackiness to the dental composition which helps retain and seal the soft tray material against the patient's teeth.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass fiber material which does not cause the fraying and separation of glass fiber after cutting by performing heat treatment to the glass fiber material whose the cut edge is liable to fray at a specified temp. for a specified time. SOLUTION: A glass fiber material whose the cut edge is liable to fray, being preferably of a uniform mesh or random mesh type, further preferably of a woven mesh, tape, yarn or rope type and especially preferably of a woven tape type is heat-treated at an annealing temp. of the material or below, preferably at 400-800°C for a time effective in preventing the fraying of the material at the time of cutting. The glass fibers preferably have a compsn. consisting of, by weight, 52-56% SiO 2, 12-16% Al 2O 3, 5-10% B 2O 3, 16-25% CaO, 0-5% MgO, 0-2% Na 2O+K 2O, 0-1.5% TiO 2, 0-0.8% F 2O 3 and 0-1% fluoride. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radioscreening fiber-reinforced composite for detal use, by including a polymer matrix and radioscreening glass fiber. SOLUTION: This composite comprises a polymer matrix (e.g. polyamide, polyester, polyolefin, polyimide, polyaryl ester, polyurethane, vinyl ester- or epoxy-based material) and an essentially radiopaque glass fiber in a quantity effective for imparting X ray contrast to a dental composite. The above glass fiber is compounded with 5-60 wt.%, preferably, 10-25 wt.%, based on the whole weight of the glass fiber, of a radioshielding-imparting agent (e.g. an oxide, carbonate or fluoride of lanthanum, strontium or tantalum, most preferably, tantalum oxide). 57 Method for bleaching teeth JP24967195 1995-09-27 JPH08113520A 1996-05-07 FISCHER DAN E
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for bleaching the surface of teeth of a person intending to make the appearance of the surface of the teeth beautiful. SOLUTION: A prescribed amount of a dental bleaching composition is placed in a dental tray, which is then arranged on the tooth surface so as to bring a part of the composition into contact with a tooth to be bleached. Thereby, the dental tray is arranged on the tooth surface. After the passage of a prescribed time, the dental tray is removed from the tooth to bleach the tooth. The dental bleaching composition comprises about 3 to about 20 wt.%, preferably about 4 to about 15 wt.% carbamide peroxide as a dental bleaching agent and a matrix material containing about 3.5 to about 12 wt.%, preferably about 4.5 to about 10 wt.% carboxypolypolymethylene as the matrix material for dispersing the bleaching agent therein. The carboxypolymethylene contained therein at the concentration has a high viscosity and is hardened when brought into contact with a saliva to form a seal around the dental tray. Thereby, the composition is held in a state thereof in contact with the tooth surface.

A method and apparatus for restoring badly discolored, fractured or cariously involved teeth by etching desirable parts of the enamel surface of the tooth and by adhering to the tooth a properly colored polymerized, preformed plastic facing that has a pleasing cosmetic appearance or corresponds to the coloring of adjacent teeth as desired. The etched surface of the tooth, the inside surface of the facing material and the exposed surface of the facing material including the joint between the facing material and the enamel of the tooth are coated with a controlled curing dental adhesive material that may be selectively cured in place, such as by ultra-violet activation. The voids between the tooth and the facing material may be filled with a controlled curing dental filler material that may also be molded about the joint between the tooth enamel and the facing material. The dental filler material may also be of the type that is cured in place such as by curing following ultra-violet activation. Facings bonded to the enamel of abutment teeth may be employed for support of pontics without necessitating preparation of abutment teeth with bridgework support crowns. Connected facings may also be employed for periodontic splinting.
