A sanitary pump with gear shaft bearing blocks in opposed cylindrical portions of a pump body bore, blocks constituting hand removable structural pump ends. Gear shaft bearings extending completely through blocks for easy cleaning, sealed by O-rings and clamp plates. Oval gear cavity bore between cylindrical portions of body bore extends only length of largest of interchangeable gears. Seals at end of gear cavity eliminate entrapment zones. Minimal intrusion of bearing blocks into gear cavity allows large operating temperature range. Shaft seals are contained in a hand removable cartridge. Complete pump disassembly by one manually operated clamp. Gear shaft diameters differ assuring correct assembly. Mount receives pump, tie rods sealing pump and securing to mount. Mount allows pump removal without changing pump-drive alignment. Pin and groove engagement of pump to mount allows 90° interval pump ports orientation. Pump displacement is altered with interchangeable gears and drive end bearing blocks.

A swash plate pump having a pump housing comprises a swash plate shaft and a swash plate being disposed in a pump chamber. The pump chamber has an intake and a delivery opening. The pump chamber is formed by two lateral surfaces and by a spherical inner surface and a spherical outer surface. The swash plate performs a wobbling motion. The swash plate is provided with a circular ring that is mounted on the spherical inner surface. A partition, which divides the circular ring of the swash plate, is disposed in the housing with at least one first lateral space disposed on a side that is remote from a drive of the swash plate and a second lateral space disposed on a side that is adjacent to the drive of the swash plate. The shaft passes through a plurality of dynamic seals in the housing. The section of the shaft, disposed within the housing, is in fluid communication with the pump chamber by the medium to be pumped. A first elastic static seal is provided for shutting off the space acted upon by the medium to be pumped. The lateral spaces, supplied with the medium to be pumped, are in fluid communication with the intake and delivery part of the pump and have the flow moving through them, in the direction of the medium to be pumped.
169 Twin shaft vacuum pump with purge gas inlet US481853 1990-02-20 US5046934A 1991-09-10 Hanns-Peter Berges
A twin-shaft vacuum pump including a rotor pair mounted for rotation in a pump chamber. The rotor pair together with the chamber wall define a suction side and delivery side of the pump chamber. In order to prevent solid particles suspended in pump fluid from settling in the chamber, the invention provides a flushing gas outlet orifice disposed on the delivery side of the pump chamber and adapted to be connected to a source of flushing gas. The solid particles can thus be held in suspension and conveyed from the pump with the assistance of flushing gas supplied through the orifice.

171 Rotary pump construction with cleaning feature US723456 1976-09-15 US4073605A 1978-02-14 Alden H. Wakeman; Leonard R. Heiliger
A positive fluid pump is provided which is capable of being cleaned in place by a circulating cleaning solution without the various pump components being disassembled. The impellers for the pump are rotatably mounted within a chamber formed in a housing. The inlet and the outlet for the chamber are separated from one another by the engaging impellers during normal operation of the pump. One of the side walls forming the pump chamber is provided with a cavity in which is slidably and sealingly mounted a wall piece. Under normal operation of the pump, the wall piece assumes a first position wherein one surface thereof is disposed adjacent the corresponding end faces of the impellers. When, the pump is being cleaned in place, the wall piece assumes a second position independently of the impellers wherein the one surface thereof is recessed from the pump chamber and the inlet and the outlet are interconnected permitting the cleaning solution to circulate through the chamber and around the impellers. The wall piece is retained in the first position by a predetermined pneumatic pressure exerted on a second surface of said wall piece disposed opposite said one surface. The predetermined pneumatic pressure is released when the pump is to be cleaned in place, allowing the wall piece to be moved to the second position by the circulating cleaning solution.
