PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut reinforcements buried to an existing pipe made of reinforced concrete efficiently and surely by forming the spiral type edge section of a spiral type roller cutter in a plurality of strips in a cutter head for a tunnel boring machine. SOLUTION: Cutter bits 4 are fixed onto a cutter head 1 for a tunnel boring machine while spiral type roller cutters 3, 3 and disk cutters 5, 5 are installed rotatably. The spiral type edge sections 3a of the spiral type roller cutters 3, 3 are formed in a plurality of strips at pitch angles of 20-80 deg., and the pitch angles are oppositely directed mutually as occasion calls. When one of the spiral type roller cutters 3 is replaced with a discoidal roller cutter and the discoidal roller cutter is mounted in the front in a fixed quantity, the concrete section of an existing pipe is crushed by the discoidal roller cutter, and projecting reinforcements are bent in the direction of rotation of the cutter head 1, and cut by the spiral type roller cutter 3. Accordingly, the reinforcements buried to the existing pipe are cut efficiently and surely by the spiral type roller cutters 3.

At least one cutting discs 34, 36, and 38 are provided on the outside part of the main drill body 10. A plurality of cutting blades 35, 37, and 39 in a ring shape are arranged in each disc. The axis of rotation of each of the discs 34, 36, and 38 is disposed at a relatively acute angle of inclination to the main axis of rotation 20. In addition, the axis of rotation of each disc is slightly offset laterally in a rearward direction from the main axis of rotation 20 of the drill main body 10. These location relationships of the axes of rotation causes the entire drill to be placed in a non-equilibrium position with the rotation of the drill main body 10 and the cutting discs 34, 36, and 38 to be more effectively and actively moved in cutting the well bore.
