An assisting tool is provided for making a tufted ornament having a bunch of threads. The assisting tool includes a first frame and a second frame that form a generally rectangular shape when assembled. The first and second frames have first and second thread hanging portions, respectively, that are spaced apart from each other in a first direction. Each thread hanging portion extends in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The assisting tool further includes a length adjuster for adjustably varying the length in the first direction from the first thread hanging portion to the second thread hanging portion by allowing the first and second frames to slide toward or away from each other. |

A bodkin includes first and second holding plates, an operation plate and an elongated bar member. The second holding plate overlaps with the first holding plate. The operation plate is rotatably supported by the first holding plate with a part of the second holding plate disposed between the first holding plate and the operation plate. The bar member is connected to the first holding plate so that the operation plate is operable independently of the bar member. Use of the operation plate enables the bodkin to selectively take an opened state and a closed state. In the opened state, the two holding plates are apart from each other, providing a gap into which an end of a string can be inserted. In the closed state, the two holding plates are brought closer to each other, thereby pinching the end of the string between them. |

Disclosed herein is a bow making device and methods of use thereof. The device is configured to include one or more ribbon rolls, an elongated flexible member, a container, and a lid having a clip and indicia for ribbon measurement. In some aspects, the clip includes a base and a plurality of fingers defining a channel and a receptacle. The container includes transparent material such that the rolls are visually-perceptible through the transparent material, and slits are provided for dispensing ribbon. In use, ribbon is dispensed through the slits and then formed into a bow. Regarding the latter, the elongated flexible member is slid through the channel into receptacle, and the ribbon is folded into measured lengths and slid through the channel into the receptacle. A user pulls the elongated flexible member and measured lengths of ribbon out of the clip through the channel and ties the ribbon to form a bow. |
