PURPOSE:To suitably spread a sheet having therein longitudinal wrinkles, by clamping a sheet on travel between rollers and a press-roller only at both edges, and by bearing the direction of the press-roller obliquely outward to apply a suitable widthwise tension to the sheet between the clamped parts. CONSTITUTION:A lower roller 3 is, for example, a common existing expander roller while upper rollers 5 are journalled to the front ends of arms 7 which are freely swing about a horizontal support rod 6 as a shaft. Further, the sup port rod 6 is removably inserted into a hole in a support block 8, and is secured by rotating a head handle 9. Further, the support block 8 is rotated for adjust ment to change the angle theta of the upper roller 5. Further more, a sheet S on travel is held by the weight of the upper roller 5 and is clamped between the upper and lower rollers 5, 3. With this arrangement, the above-mentioned angle thetadetermines the direction of the frictional force F between the upper and lower rollers 5, 3 and the sheet S, from which the component force widthwise of the sheet, T=Fsintheta is obtained. With this arrangement the sheet S having there in longitudinal wrinkles is spread.

PURPOSE: To provide a control mechanism of the type applicable to griffe frames of large dimensions in which a guide part is contracted to an extremely limited size. CONSTITUTION: This mechanism is used for controlling griffe frames 2 and 3 of a loom of the type located at a position under a frame 1. The characteristic of the mechanism comprises providing a cam supporting shaft 4 with a second pair 6 of two complementary cams 60 and 61 shifted by 180 deg. angle to a first pair 5 of complementary cams 50 and 51 on each side of the frame 1, making the second pair 6 of the complementary cams 60 and 61 cooperate with follower rollers 11 and 13 attached to a second double rocker lever 12 arranged adjacently to a first double rocker lever 8, driving the first griffe frames 2 and 3 with two short connecting rods 14 and 17 of the double rocker levers 8 and 12, driving the second griffe frames 2 and 3 with two long connecting rods 15 and 16 in the mechanism having and the first pair 5 of the two complementary cams 50 and 51 respectively cooperating with the follower rollers 9 and 7 attached to the rocker double levers 8 pivoted so as to be rockable around a fixed shaft 10 on each side of the frame 1.

PURPOSE: To make it possible to double a lifting height by adding the movements of a movable tackle and stationary tackle respectively engaged with each other via a tackle cord when lifting a hook for connection to a warp thread by the actin of a knife grid. CONSTITUTION: The end of the tackle cord 21 is fixed to a shaft 18 for interconnecting a pair of flat plates of the open-shed Jacquard machine and grooved revolving rollers 19 and 20 are respectively disposed at other shafts 16 and 17. The other end of the tackle cord 10 attached to a hook 11 is attached to a hook 12 via the roller 19, by which the movable tackle element 15 is constituted. Also, the tackle cord 21 is guided to a grooved roller 24 disposed with a shaft 23 connecting a pair of the flat plates and the other end at the bottom thereof is fixed via a spring 26, by which the stationary tackle element 22 is constituted. When the one hook 12 of the hooks 11 and 12 is lifted by the height(h) via a knife 14, the movable tackle element 15 and the roller 24 are respectively lifted by the height h/2, and the height 1.5 h is risen at the level at the end of the tackle cord 10, by which the movement thereof is doubled.

PURPOSE: A shed-forming apparatus containing many combinations of two or more selection systems and two hooks in which each selection system can be ascended and descended by a lifting means and operated each together is provided. Preferably two selection systems are provided per combination. This enables the number of selection systems with similar machine dimensions to be almost doubled in relation to the known devices. CONSTITUTION: A shed-forming device contains a number of combinations of at least two selection systems(3, 6 7), (5, 8, 9) respectively with selection elements provided one above the other, whereby each selection system comprises two hooks(6, 7, 8, 9) working together and that can be ascended and descended by a lifting means(13, 14) which can be selected by a selection element(3, 5), whereby hooks of different selection systems of a combination can be ascended and descended separately from each other. Preferably the hooks of selection systems of a same combination are movable by one and the same pair of lifting means and each lifting means has at least two parts for being able to engage respective hooks, well separated from one another, of different selection systems of the same combination.
