The invention relates to a connector for hanging an article like a picture from a wire, such as a steel wire, in which connector (1) there is a frame (4), an arm (5) and a counterpart (7) jointed to it. In the connector, arm (5) is jointed to the frame (4) by means of a pivot joint (6), so that it is free to rotate against the counterpart (7), when the wire (2) remains between their counter surfaces (11, 12) and the connector thus locks onto the wire (2). The counter surfaces (11, 12) extend for a distance on the wire (2) that is many times its diameter, so that they always settle onto the wire (2) over their greatest length. The invention also relates to a counterpart in the picture for receiving the connector. |

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Aufhängesystem (1) für einen Gemälderahmen (2) oder einen sonstigen, vorzugsweise im wesentlichen plattenförmigen Gegenstand, wobei das Aufhängesystem (1) mindestens ein am Gemälderahmen (2) dauerhaft anbringbares Aufhängeelement (3) aufweist, an dem ein Tragelement (4) lösbar und über den Gemälderahmen (2) hinaus ragend und/oder verschiebbar, klappbar oder schwenkbar befestigbar ist, wobei das Aufhängesystem (3) mindestens eine Halteeinrichtung (5) für ein Aufhängeteil (6) aufweist, so daß der Gemälderahmen (2) am Aufhängeseil (6) aufhängbar ist. Dieses ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Halteeinrichtung (5) eine Klemmeinrichtung (7) aufweist, die fest mit dem Aufhängelement (3) verbunden oder verbindbar ist und die derart ausgebildet ist, daß das Aufhängeseil (6) klemmend festlegbar ist. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist auch ein auf Aufhängeelement (3) eines solchen Aufhängesystem (1). |

| An angled picture frame hanger assures safe and secure hanging of wooden picture frames with narrow moldings under heavy weight loading and/or soft wood moldings of all widths. The hanger includes a flat metal plate with two screw holes. At right angles to the plate are flange portions that overlap and butt against an inner edge of a rear of the frame. An angled hook portion is connected to the flat plate. Wire or cord is attached through the angled hook portion and the frame is ready for hanging on a wall or other support. The flange portions act as a brace against the weakening of the frame due to splitting of the wood fibers by the fastening screws. | A base member of a push pin is formed by casting or molding, and a pin is inserted pointed end first into a hole in the base member and forced through the base member until the end opposite thereof lies below the surface of the base member. The material of the base member is then flowed over the end of the pin, by mechanical or heat techniques, to form a substantially complete layer over the end of the pin within the base member. The pins preferably extend at an acute angle to a flat surface of the base member. The push pin may have pins extending from opposite surfaces thereof, a loop shaped projection adapted to be affixed to a wire, or a hinge separating the base member into a hook portion and a portion carrying one or more pins. The push pin may have a contoured base member to facilitate the affixing of a picture wire to a hook formed on the base member. In another embodiment the push pin has a projection on the side thereof through which the pin extends, the projection having a rounded contour adjacent the pin, a radially outer surface, and an intermediate axially extending section between the rounded surface and the radially outer portion. The push pin may be formed with a pivoted lever, to serve as a wire clamp. For picture hanging purposes, the push pin may include a pair of pins extending from opposite sides of an elongated member and through projections, the elongated member having a saw tooth edge, with the planes of the saw tooth edge and the side of the elongated member adjacent thereto extending at an angle corresponding to portions of a nail extending at an angle in the wall, in order to facilitate the hanging of a picture on the wall. | ||||||

Components are provided for forming a picture frame which include frame sections (22) adapted to be oriented at an angle to form a corner of the frame at adjacent ends of the sections. A bracket (60) is provided for each corner and has a first leg (62) and a second leg (64). One leg (62) is disposed within a channel (32) formed in one of the frame sections (22) at the corner and the other leg (64) is disposed within a channel (32) of the other of the two frame sections (22) at the frame corner. At least one of the legs of each bracket has a slanting engagement surface (66,72). A screw (80) is threadingly engaged with one of the frame sections and also engages the bracket slanting engagement surface to urge the bracket leg along the frame section in which it is disposed in a direction away from the other frame section at the corner to draw the facing regions of the two frame sections together at the corner. The specification also describes clips for retaining sheets within the completed frame, clips for securing hanging wires to the frame, and supports for maintaining the frame upright on a horizontal surface. |
