1 APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING A FLAT SCREEN ON A SURFACE EP13727077.3 2013-05-22 EP2852786A1 2015-04-01 PETERSSON, Claus; SAKWILAWAN, Prasit
The invention regards an apparatus for mounting a flat screen on a surface wherein the flat screen comprises at least two fixtures. The apparatus comprises, two mounting members adapted to be attached to the fixtures on the flat screen and a wire with one end connected to one of the mounting members and the other end connected to the other mounting member. The mounting members comprise an axle adapted for the wire to be coiled around for changing the length of free wire between the mounting members and retaining means at a radially greater distance from the wire coiled around the axle, adapted to retain the wire hereby preventing uncoiling of the wire.
2 Connector for hanging an article like a picture from a wire and a counterpart for securing the connector EP00660169.4 2000-09-28 EP1088502A3 2002-10-23 Rantakangas, Tuure

The invention relates to a connector for hanging an article like a picture from a wire, such as a steel wire, in which connector (1) there is a frame (4), an arm (5) and a counterpart (7) jointed to it. In the connector, arm (5) is jointed to the frame (4) by means of a pivot joint (6), so that it is free to rotate against the counterpart (7), when the wire (2) remains between their counter surfaces (11, 12) and the connector thus locks onto the wire (2). The counter surfaces (11, 12) extend for a distance on the wire (2) that is many times its diameter, so that they always settle onto the wire (2) over their greatest length. The invention also relates to a counterpart in the picture for receiving the connector.

8 Angled picture frame hanger US729160 1991-07-12 US5100094A 1992-03-31 Leroy Handwerger; James I. Seybold
An angled picture frame hanger assures safe and secure hanging of wooden picture frames with narrow moldings under heavy weight loading and/or soft wood moldings of all widths. The hanger includes a flat metal plate with two screw holes. At right angles to the plate are flange portions that overlap and butt against an inner edge of a rear of the frame. An angled hook portion is connected to the flat plate. Wire or cord is attached through the angled hook portion and the frame is ready for hanging on a wall or other support. The flange portions act as a brace against the weakening of the frame due to splitting of the wood fibers by the fastening screws. The angled hook portion reduces the forces of the pull of wire or cord to lessen the stress upon the attached flat plate.
9 Drivable picture frame hanger US905769 1986-09-10 US4728237A 1988-03-01 Eugene Lorincz; Marlin J. Hoskinson
A hanger adapted to be driven into a wooden frame member includes a one-piece stamped metal member having a head and a flat elongate symmetrical shank with a series of lands and grooves disposed on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the shank between its tip and a pair of laterally extending shoulders on its head. Inclined camming surfaces extend between the lands and grooves and cooperate therewith to compress the wood fibers laterally of the shank as it is driven into the wood. A lateral gripping surface behind each land surface engages the wood fibers which expand into the distally adjacent groove to provide a positive gripping action which resists disengagement.
10 Device for hanging a picture frame US971192 1978-12-20 US4233764A 1980-11-18 Stuart R. Small
An improved fastening device particularly adapted for hanging picture frames of the type provided with a channel section therein comprises an elongate, unitary element having intermediate portions thereof fashioned into a torsional spring which is inserted into the channel and grips portions of the latter without the need for anchoring screws. One extremity of the element extends longitudinally into the channel and abuts at least one sidewall thereof to prevent rotation of the device on the frame while the other extremity of the element projects out through an opening in the channel and has a hook member formed therein to allow attachment with a picture hanging wire.
11 Method of forming a push pin article and articles produced by the method US598372 1975-07-23 US4017048A 1977-04-12 Ruediger Einhorn
A base member of a push pin is formed by casting or molding, and a pin is inserted pointed end first into a hole in the base member and forced through the base member until the end opposite thereof lies below the surface of the base member. The material of the base member is then flowed over the end of the pin, by mechanical or heat techniques, to form a substantially complete layer over the end of the pin within the base member. The pins preferably extend at an acute angle to a flat surface of the base member. The push pin may have pins extending from opposite surfaces thereof, a loop shaped projection adapted to be affixed to a wire, or a hinge separating the base member into a hook portion and a portion carrying one or more pins. The push pin may have a contoured base member to facilitate the affixing of a picture wire to a hook formed on the base member. In another embodiment the push pin has a projection on the side thereof through which the pin extends, the projection having a rounded contour adjacent the pin, a radially outer surface, and an intermediate axially extending section between the rounded surface and the radially outer portion. The push pin may be formed with a pivoted lever, to serve as a wire clamp. For picture hanging purposes, the push pin may include a pair of pins extending from opposite sides of an elongated member and through projections, the elongated member having a saw tooth edge, with the planes of the saw tooth edge and the side of the elongated member adjacent thereto extending at an angle corresponding to portions of a nail extending at an angle in the wall, in order to facilitate the hanging of a picture on the wall.

20 Picture frame assembly components EP81305607.4 1981-11-26 EP0053493A1 1982-06-09 Logan, Malcolm

Components are provided for forming a picture frame which include frame sections (22) adapted to be oriented at an angle to form a corner of the frame at adjacent ends of the sections. A bracket (60) is provided for each corner and has a first leg (62) and a second leg (64). One leg (62) is disposed within a channel (32) formed in one of the frame sections (22) at the corner and the other leg (64) is disposed within a channel (32) of the other of the two frame sections (22) at the frame corner. At least one of the legs of each bracket has a slanting engagement surface (66,72). A screw (80) is threadingly engaged with one of the frame sections and also engages the bracket slanting engagement surface to urge the bracket leg along the frame section in which it is disposed in a direction away from the other frame section at the corner to draw the facing regions of the two frame sections together at the corner.

The specification also describes clips for retaining sheets within the completed frame, clips for securing hanging wires to the frame, and supports for maintaining the frame upright on a horizontal surface.
