The coupling device for securing adjacent boards to construct a display case is molded from a plastic material and made in such a way, that a pair of plate members are spaced from each other to define a groove for receiving a corner of the board therein. The pair of plate members are connected by a pair of triangular prismatic portions extending on two adjacent sides thereof and with the two adjacent sides formed into a right angle, the groove is positioned opposite to the two adjacent sides. Along the longitudinal direction of the triangular prismatic portion a slot or a rod is alternatively provided, and a connecting member is provided with at least two complementary parts thereon for mating with the rods or the slots of at least two other triangular prismatic portions of two adjacent coupling devices, so as to connect the same. |

Each of the four corners of the tempered glass plate in a chrome and glass table rests within a different one of the tubular legs of the table with its apex being centered in the leg and its sides abutting vertical sides of a recessed notch in the tubular wall of the leg, each corner being held in place by a different glass-plate retainer which engages a corresponding tubular leg substantially around its entire circumference and abuts the top of the glass plate. In an embodiment of table having horizontal chrome rims extending between legs of the table and supporting the sides of the plate along its center portion, the glass-plate retainer has a shroud extending downwardly and around the outer joints between the rims and the leg to cover unsightly construction features and has an upper portion elevated above the shroud to engage the top of the glass plate. In another embodiment, the glass-plate retainer has an inner surface which engages the inner surface of the leg across its entire circumference, but receives the glass plate in a recess positioned even with the recessed portion in the leg. The glass-plate retainers are decorative. |

A device for fastening and assembling elongate bodies such as slabs and tubes in a removable manner is disclosed, said device comprising a block made of a comparatively resilient body having slots for receiving the edges of the slabs or tubes to be connected, perforations parallel to the slots and having radial extension slots, a counterblock having projections capable of engaging the perforations of the block to expand them, said counterblock having a screw-thread adapted to be engaged by a screw-threaded shaft attached to a handwheel, the shaft being passed through the block aforesaid, so that the tightening of the screw clamps the plate, the counterblock, the block and the members to be interconnected which have been inserted in the slots.

Large adjacent glass panes are fastened together by means including a glazing button comprising a stem that is preferably thinner than the glass to be joined coacting with two shoulder portions to define a pair of recesses slightly larger than the thickness of the adjacent glass panes to be connected. At least one of the shoulder-defining portions is threaded for receiving a member with an internally threaded socket that may be tightened to securely interconnect the adjacent panes of glass.
