A hinge assembly includes a cam (13), a follower (14), a first spring (12), a control member (17) and a second spring (16). The cam has a first cam surface (135) and a second cam surface (136). The follower has a third cam surface (141) engaging with the first cam surface. The first spring provides an elastic force causing the cam surface of the cam and the third cam surface of the follower to resist each other. The control member has a fourth cam surface engaging with the second cam surface of the cam. The second spring is positioned between the control member and the follower. The control member is movable to push the cam to rotate to realize the first cam surface of the cam to rotate relative to the third cam surface of the follower.
US08006345B1 Hinge for adjoining rods
Rod segments can be adjoined with a simple hinge. Various embodiments of hinges include locking, non-locking, spring biased open or closed, and aligned rod segments or non-aligned rod segments.
US08006344B2 Suction nozzle-hanging apparatus for use in vacuum cleaner
A suction nozzle hanging apparatus for use in a vacuum cleaner that can hang and store a suction nozzle assembly having a suction nozzle on a cleaner body. The suction nozzle hanging apparatus includes a fixing part formed on a suction nozzle assembly, the suction nozzle assembly having a suction nozzle and an extended tube connected to the suction nozzle, and a counter fixing part formed on a cleaner body and joining with the fixing part to support the suction nozzle assembly on the cleaner body, wherein the fixing part is disposed to be rotatable on a longitudinal axis of the joining connector.
US08006343B2 Duster for vehicle
There is provided a duster which is suitable for cleaning. To prevent a brush wound around a rod from slipping in the direction of the length and the direction of the axial rotation of the rod, the duster comprises: a number of sharp protrusions formed on a portion of the rod around which the brush is wound, so that a stitched portion of the brush is stuck to the sharp protrusions to semi-permanently prevent the slip of the brush, thereby maintaining the product to be like a first assembled state thereof, preventing the function of the duster from being deteriorated, and preventing the surface of an object to be cleaned from being scratched by the rod which is partially exposed. In addition, since the slip of the brush is prevented by using no adhesive agent, the product is easily assembled and the cost is greatly reduced accordingly.
US08006331B1 Active mattress spinner
A device is disclosed for facilitating rotation of a mattress in a horizontal plane carried by a box spring or a platform. In order to facilitate rotation, slick surfaces between the mattress and the box spring or platform are selectively placed in contact in order to reduce the normal friction therebetween. The slick surfaces may be provided by two (2) separate covers; one cover for the mattress and one cover for the box spring or platform. A first cover is provided with a slick and non-slick surface. In order to further facilitate rotation, a second cover includes a slick surface on one side and forms part of a levitation device. The other side of the second cover may be formed with a slick or a non-slick surface. A levitation device creates an air cushion between the mattress and the box spring under the influence of an air supply which lifts the mattress and allows the mattress to be rotated in a horizontal plane virtually effortlessly.
US08006328B2 T-shaped side rails for bed frame
A bed frame comprising T shaped side rails provide support for a box spring and mattress. A leg assembly is affixed to the bed frame and is affixed to the side rail and to the cross rails for better strength of connection. The use of T-shaped side rails provides more resistance to twisting and bowing and thereby more resistant to damage a leg or other structural component of the bed frame from moving the bed frame across the floor. The use of the T-shape cross section side rails enables the overall bed frame to support more weight with less deflection than the convention L-shaped side rails. There are also headboard and footboard brackets that take advantage of the greater height of the vertical flange of the side rail to have affixation means, such as rivets, that are further spaced apart to provide a more rigid connection between the brackets and the side rails.
US08006326B2 Foldable and portable playard assemblies with a storage compartment and methods of use thereof
Foldable and portable playard assemblies with a storage compartment and methods of use thereof are disclosed. An example playard includes a lower frame having a collapsed position and an erected position and an upper frame having a collapsed position and an erected position. The example playard further includes a handle coupled to the lower frame, wherein movement of the handle from a generally horizontal position to a generally upright position causes the lower frame to move between the collapsed position and the erected position.
US08006324B2 Foam odor plug for urinals
A urinal discharge pipe assembly comprising a discharge pipe having a passageway therethrough from an inlet in communication with a urinal discharge outlet and an outlet in communication with a urine disposal system, a foam dispensing device having a foam outlet open into the passageway for discharge of an allotment of foam into the passageway between the inlet and the outlet adequate to form a temporary foam plug across the passageway blocking the passageway.
US08006320B1 Ear covering apparatus and associated method
A sanitary ear covering includes at least a first body and alternately a second body formed from deformably resilient material. Each of the first and second bodies may have a circular shape when disposed at an equilibrium position. Each of the first and second bodies may be adapted to conform to the user ear and thereby remain at a substantially stable position during operating conditions. Each of the first and second bodies preferably include an ear-receiving section defining a cup-shaped cavity therein, an outer rim directly coupled to an outer perimeter of the cup-shaped cavity, an ear plug mated to the ear-receiving section and projecting orthogonally inward therefrom, and a strap removably connected to a bottom hemisphere of the outer rim.
US08006319B2 Breast self-exam device
A device for breast self-examination worn over the fingers of a user's hand, comprising an operative portion with an outside shell, an inside liner, and a lubricant contained therebetween, and a barrier adhering the outside shell to the inside liner and acting to seal the lubricant within. The operative portion is sized to substantially restrict access to just the pads of the distal and middle regions of the four fingers, preventing the non-recommended use of the thumb and palm during the inspection process, due to their limited sensitivity. The operative portion is designed to allow the recommended substantial lateral displacement of the inside layer relative to the outside shell that remains in substantially immobile contact with an area of skin. The novel design substantially prevents incorrect use thereby increasing the detection effectiveness.
US08006317B2 Submarine escape suits
The submarine escape suit has a hood (14) covering the head of a wearer during ascent from a submarine. In order to allow the wearer to expose his/her face, the hood (14) is provided with a portion (21) overlying the face of a wearer that is releasable from the remainder of the hood (14). The releasable portion (21) may be re-attachable.
